I am new to this. I have a 10 year old son who is taking lessons and has no representation. We did an agent showcase where he did not get a callback and I noticed that ours were the least professional photos in the group. I took them myself and had them done at Staples. Is this a huge faux pas, or is he just not ready for representation? Worried that I am sabotaging him with my cheapness but also worried that I am sabotaging myself paying for all these classes with showcases and then being the parent with the least professional photos. Thoughts?

Maybe you could contact the instructor who he took classes with and ask what different could he do to have a manager or agent interested in representing him.Are the photos blurry, have busy background, doesnt look like him etc? Id contact them and see what their opinion is.They just may mention the photos or something else youre unaware of.Good LuckSmiler

For a showcase I seriously don't think it made a difference so don't kick yourself about it. They are seeing your child live - much better than just a picture. Maybe he just needs more experience. I agree to talk to whoever ran the showcase or try another one. Not all kids get signed from their showcase. Don't give up but give it time. You will probably have to take new pics if you got signed anyway unless they are really good and the manager or agent likes them.
