She was there today.
For what it is worth...we went on Friday. It was not a call back, it was our fist time though. General audition for "future projects". There were a lot of people (five) in the room, though I don't know who they were. They were looking for kids 10 to 18. Not necessarily singers and dancers, but that was a plus. There was not anything special about Friday, at least for us, I think it was just scheduling. We don't sing or dance, so we weren't asked to sing or dance. Got the feeling they were looking at everything, building their rolodex.
Anybody heard anything?
I don't think there is anything to hear. If I am understanding it all correctly, this was a general talent search. The difference between this one and ones done in the past is that they relied on agents/managers to submit their top talent, and had brought in a few from an open call on Actors Access whereas in the past they also had HUGE cattle calls. Also, if you were lucky enough to be brought in on one of the days Ms. Levine was there, that was a great bonus! If your child went and did well, then excellent - as DISNEY usually starts casting new shows in the coming months. Perhaps your DC will get opportunities to pursue those projects. NICK also had their LA/NY CDs in for a similar casting search the days immediately following Disney's.
Whatever the outcome, we just chalked t up as a great chance to get in front of some important players in the biz, and every bit of experience helps.
What types of songs were kids singing for the audition?
the instructions were "not broadway". so most were singing versions of pop tunes.
This is probably the same, just came out today: Midwestern call, Disney, boys girls 10-18, a couple of roles (Sydney is the older girl), states they are looking for a child to carry a series and there are no dates yet, project will be "built around talent." Singing and dancing will be seen as well.
Edited: "Sydney" is just the sides they are using
Agent submission kids have been seen in Chicago as well, and will continue through Monday. The form said there will be callbacks on Wed/Thurs/Friday of next week. It was very low key, and they just asked the kids to sing a chorus of any song they wanted. (Most of the kids we know sang musical theatre, b/c that's what they do all the time)
Yes - callbacks in Chicago today and this weekend.
Call backs in Chicago went through today. We just got back from ours. No indication of what/when next steps would be.

Any advice for Disney auditions? My dd has one tomorrow. Not sure what to expect.
Watch some Disney shows and note the style. Nick and Disney acting is a different tone, more "over the top", kind of exaggerated. It's hard to spell out but if you are watching for it you can totally see it on the shows. Don't overdress for the audition. Good luck!
Audition was organized and quick. Does anyone know how long before the next round of auditions take place. Kids were not asked to sing or dance at this first round. I am assuming you have to make it to the actual Disney cd's before asked to perform some other talent??
last year the singing/music was done at the cbs for the DIsney CD at end of the week in our case the next day
Auditions will be going on here until the end of next week so I am assuming that they would wait until after auditions before doing callbacks?
Thanks for the info.
