It was a cute segment. They took a group of them and had them sing doe a deer. DD doesn't sing but she wishes she did.
Sometimes its not about the best singer NCYGAL! I think your DD would make the cutest Gretle! The open call looked insane, so glad we had an appointment. I think it was definitely better to take the chance and wait for an appointment!
Hey at least it is a gorgeous day! I don't think they followed the rules. They had to be lined up way before 9 AM. I can't imagine what it was like down there. If l lived closer I would have taken a live look but they showed enough of the snake line to know I could never had hung out there. They did say they wanted great singers on the Telsey open call. Good luck to all of you. Sounds like such a great experience and even if you don't get it, every audition gives you experience. Standing on line - not so much. I wonder how far people drove in from even though they said local. PM BH
Anyone on this post get a red ticket? If yes, what did they have them do?
DD had a red ticket, but I don't think it's fair to those who have auditioned or will be auditioning to say what went on in the call-back room. I will say that it was rather intimidating and not a supportive environment. I'm only comparing it to the several rounds of callbacks DD had for the role of Matilda last year. She LOVED those auditions and left each one feeling like it was an amazing experience. The auditions yesterday moved quickly. Lines were not that long. By noon, there was no wait at all. I do know that people started lining up at 6 AM. We arrived around 8:30. GLTA!
Was the flow similar to AMerican Idol? Sounds like it with the ticket and everything.
trumpet - I think it was probably just very professional and had to go very quickly since they need to book this quickly and are weeding if you don't fit the part. It doesn't mean said children aren't great but that they weren't what they are looking for. I see nothing wrong with others asking about what happened in the audition. That's what people talk about here. It was highly publicized and hundreds of kids were there. It is up to you whether to read it or decide if you want to reply. I know someone who came back to sing again. No complaints on their part at all. Why do you think it's not fair? You can easily private message as well. They are obviously making a family so many different factors are going in to the auditioning process and it's run by T who are highly professional. I am sorry that you felt it was supportive but I think in this business many or most times they do not treat children with kid gloves. You all really need a tough skin. Best of luck to you. This is not the same situation as asking about a call that didn't take place yet. It has already happened. GL to you and your dd.
All of the agent auditions and callbacks have yet to occur, so this is an audition that is in progress. I would be doing a disservice to all those children who already auditioned if I described it fully. They went in not knowing what to expect, blindly, and to keep the playing field level, I feel that it should not be discussed further. Just my opinion though. Also, please know that I was only comparing it to the Matilda auditions which, in my opinion, were a warm fuzzy. We're really glad we went yesterday and I believe that all of our call-back kids are still in the running. So again, GLTA!
Actually there were agent calls that already occurred. They were before and after the open call.
I didn't mean to insult. I meant to say that all calls are different and you can't expect the warmth you experienced at Matilda on all calls. It's a wonderful thing - or is it? maybe kids expect that all the time. I don't know. I have a feeling it will continue to be discussed until it's booked.
Anyway, from the clip I saw on NBC, I thought all the kids were simply adorable.
As far as I know you guys are all in the running. I will, however, post if I know a part has booked.
Does anyone else have an agent appt. tomorrow? GL--I'm sure they'll cast quickly!
DD is going in today. Fingers crossed!
Good luck to everyone with appointments and red tickets!
Our DD was there and had a red ticket. They took her back in for more. We are hearing through word of mouth that all red ticket kids are being called back later this week. However, my husband took her to audition and knows nothing about callbacks for red tickets. Our dd is not yet represented by an agent in NYC as this was the first open call she's even attempted.
Does anyone know if calls have already gone out to all of the kids being called back from yesterday's open call? Any insight would be greatly appreciated for these newbies!
Wow! The new additions to the adult cast they just announced are phenomenal! I'm even more excited for all of you still in it! Now it feels like a show!
The father is so cute! British and gorgeous
