My DD auditioned and booked a student film. Are those bookings good for her resume?

I think so. All experience helps for the next. We did a few to get comfortable with on camera work.

Of course they are! Definitely put it on the resume under "Film."

Agreed - they are great, and my DD loved working on them. Her favorite job is still one of the films she did. Make sure it from a top tier school, though (columbia or NYU, in my opinion) and if they are graduate work, even better. Our best experiences were from those schools - you are getting professional young men and women who have been taught how to conduct themselves and are very capable. They are also so willing to let the children ask questions and learn as well. Good luck and congrats.

Besides adding to your DC's resume you are networking. These kids go on to be the next generation directors, casting directors and other highly visible jobs in the industry. When your kid has a Facebook account they will friend each other and be remembered. It is HUGE in networking as we have discovered.

DD's worked on a few USC films and they are very professional, have decent craft service and always have set teacher, which is more than I can say for non-student SAG shorts being made by industry professionals.
