Anyone go to the open call in August. I thought I saw that advertised in BS. Did it even happen?

My DD was at the equity call. Very few kids there. It was with Daniel Swee. She did the Dixie scenes 3 times and then they taught her how to do in southern accent.

DD auditoned last night. They are still on first calls. Mostly girls there but a couple of boys. It's my understanding, boys were last week but a couple spilled over to this week. I would guess c/b's will happen soon as rehearsals start in 3 wks. Breakdown was Polly 4, but must be at least 6, Trixie 7-9, Dixie 9-10, Buster 6-7. GLTA.

I was told not to overdo the southern accent so it's good to hear they worked on it. Dixie has the most lines and is eldest child so the part is probably bigger than the others. I don't think any of the kid's roles are that big.

On our breakdown it said the children need to be able to do a southern accent but I figure that they are mostly looking for "type" and there will be a dialect coach for the actors.

Hello,

Does anyone know the children were requested to sing Happy Birthday? Is it just for presence, or is there a song sang in the show?

Thanks

I will chime in. Yes, one song and the lines that were supplied. They may also ask dk to do some improv or things from " other talents/skills" that may be listed on their resume.
