She is 7, but tiny (wears size 4/5). Not sure how/if teeth will play a factor in the casting, as 5-8 is prime time to lose various teeth, and the set in Thailand probably does not have great dental access. She said they asked her about how many she had lost and which ones specifically.

Because it was her first time, she learned a bit about the movie, what it was, etc. But, while she is the one who has motivated this whole acting endeavor, she is relaxed back about it all. She asked a few times the first week, but now does not. She would love it to happen, but also adores her friends, school, etc, and understands the time away, so looks at it with surprising balance.

She did adore the CD and director, as did I, in the brief meeting. Both were really nice and made her feel at ease.

Oh, and Laura is my middle name. Did not want to post my first. Not sure why!

I don't think the role of Beeze has been cast. My DD JUST read for it on Monday. Her manager got an email asking for my daughter to send in tape for Beeze. If they had it cast I don't think they would have asked her to read. She is 6 and small so I don't think she would even be considered for the older sister. So, I wouldn't say it's a done deal if they are still asking people to read.

How long does it usually take from audition, to call back, to finding out when a part has been cast? All of the other things my kid has done have had "interview dates" etc. on the breakdown. She has never auditioned for a movie before, so I am assuming it's a totally different process???

Newbie, I have heard of no call backs for Lucy. It appears to me that they are asking tons of kids to read for the part...and the Lucy role is still listed, while the Beeze role is not, but I have no idea what that means.

Oh yeah, I wanted to ask if anyone who was submitted for something called "The Awakened" had been asked to audition yet...

NYCGAL, all I was told is the name of the film is "The Awakened" starring Julianne Michelle. filming in NY. My daughter was submitted through her agent, but hasn't been asked to audition. It is starting in September, so I was assuming they had found someone for this already

Laura, my girls auditioned for Lucy. No CB yet. I would say if breeze had been cast and was definAte it would be listed already.
Movie roles are a longer process than commercials and t.v.
Good luck and way to go on her first audition.

Dad, do you mind if I ask if it's a first read or a callback? Either way does not bode well for my DD, but am curious bc I have not heard of any Beeze callbacks. Obviously there are tons of people who do not post about them, bc I know there were others with callbacks for both roles the day DD had hers.

I am not v familiar with the whole process, but am guessing that Lucy is the bigger role (have not read the script). If so, I would think they'd cast her first and have a couple of potential Beeze's lined up to match the Lucy?

I assume if DD were one o the potentials, we'd have gotten some sort of encouragement by now, or another round in LA. But I am still enjoying following all, as the process is new to me, so it's fun to see it unfold in real time.

TIA!

Laura, it is my dd's first audition for Beeze. I don't know much about the business either since we are pretty new at this!

Dad, thank you so muhc for letting me know.

Wow, you all are new! When I did a search to see other posts by you, to see if I could tell DDs name, it looked as if you had a ton of auditions and callbacks... congrats! That's excellent. If we ever shake our measly, remote town and head back to NYC, I may need to ask who your agent is!
