NJmom - did you do one take or 3 separate scenes? It's going to be just as painful for us.

Hey Nycgal! I want to say I love all your comments all the time! Okay...now, I did the video in 1 scene. But it was a pain. I had to do it several times bc it wouldn't save and it got cut off and than I didn't have enough memory!!! Painful! By the time,I finally got to save it I was so frustrated and so was my dd. She was not in the mood and I just made her do it to get it over with. The first take was great, even the second but of course I didn't save those. I sent the 6th one that was not so great. But I didn't even care by than! So... I wish you good luck. If you need any help let me know. I can walk you through it. You just need patience.

I think the worst part was having to read the sides off camera------ I'm no actress and the kids have to have some pretty strong reactions in response to the other characters. Don't know if my lack of talent hurts when viewing the tape or if they will be so impressed with my DDs skills in response to her partners lack of them! LOL!Anyway--- GLTA!

Question about Actor's Access. The role of the younger daughter is shaded out. Does that mean they booked it or they are taking no more submissions? I don't want to do this video if it's booked. I'll call my manager to find out. I need to be quicker on the trigger.

The role of "The Beeze" is not shaded out on my AA account, but the role of LUCY is because we submitted for it. Any role we submitted for is shaded out. Maybe a mistake if you did not already submit??

I think hey shade out if you apply. Anyway. Lucy was relished and Beeze was not according to agents so it's booked or narrowed down

2sweatpeas, do you mind if I ask if they read for Lucy or Beeze (or both)?

then i guess dd is out. she had her first audition and her first callback rolled into one. she had a callback for beeze last week. but we have heard nothing since.

it went quickly -- just one reading -- so i assumed she was not going to progress, but still a tad sad reading that it has been cast without us! the prospect was exciting!

Well, it could just mean that they have their "favorites" picked out or narrowed down...plus, I haven't heard of any call backs...just the agency saying that the younger sister role is "off the list"...I wouldn't call it quits yet....especially if she got an immediate callback. That's a good sign Smiler

thanks. but she literally read one time and that was it. i was not in the room, so not sure how she did overall, but could hear, and she stumbled a line or two. it was her first time auditioning, and her first time getting a callback, so i have no idea how these things work. my guess is if they were interested in her, they would have kept her longer. and we would have heard something by now, as it was more than a week ago.

they did say they were doing callbacks for both roles that day, but it was just a day or two after they re-listed lucy. i am not sure how many kids, or how much interest they had in people, for either part. given that lucy was re-listed, my guess is they had only a few reading for for lucy, but more for beeze.

thanks!

Yeah, I am equally clueless...probably more Wink I just wish the name of the movie wasn't on the sides so my kid couldn't get fixated on it...looking it up on the Internet, etc...My friend said that the acting business is "where the circus meets the army"...i guess you never know anything unless you get the part! I do wish the rejection process could be quicker...it's hard on the kids, especially when the moms have no answers for them. I guess the process helps our kids decide if this is really what they want to do...

I think the best thing to do imho - is not tell tehm much about the part or the shooting or who is in the movie etc etc. we were supposed to get it done right away but were shooting that day and no way we could do it. Anyway, I think just practicing the sides is good for them for the future. I'm bummed we didn't get a shot bc my kid has hair like they described which is rarely said - they usually like neat, straight hair. Oh well. We are still going to do a tape for it to practice and maybe use it for something else.

Laura that's terrific about audition anyway. Nobody learns but for practice. How old is your daughter? Mine is 6. She was so bummed when I told her it's too late.
