In my technique class you don't work on scripted scenes until scene study (which is the next class)...

So pretty much MANY of the exercises we do are all improv but utilizing techniques we are learning using an improv scene... For example we'll have to improv a scene where we are doing an activity at the same time (like moving into a new place and unpacking) or improv'ing a scene using the fourth wall technique.... The teacher will tell you who you are and situation etc.

However, I really hate doing this much improv... Do many classes who teach technique make you improv all the time in class?

I guess you're talking about Aaron Speiser. I'm also not a big fan of improv, bu trust me, it's very important. Just keep working on it.

I much prefer classes that jump right into scripts but still delve into technique as you work on them.
