Your best bet is to attend a great studio that has a conservatory style program. You will be competing with the best here.

Check out:

William Esper Studio
Maggie Flannigan Studio
The Lee Strasburg Theatre and Film Institute
HB Studios
T Schreiber
Stella Adler

Other names I have hear but am not too familair with:

Penny Templeton
Susan Baxter

Bob Krakower- but only if you have acting technique and now want to work on your technique for the camera

One on One, Actors Connection, and The Network offer classes as well though you should have some acting foundation before taking those workshops/classes.

UCB, The Pit, and The Magent are great for learning improv, which is an excellent and essential tool for an actor to have.

The Linklater Center for Voice and Language is great for working on your voice (not a singing voice and not accent/dialect reduction, but for getting in touch with your voice).

I am in New York and am currently taking acting classes. I would suggest:
1. Ted Bardy, its for both theatrical ( Miesner technique) and tv/film during third phase. He is a GREAT acting coach and is classes are affordable. He offer an audit class (try out class) to see how the class is and if you like it before you actually register to start. check out his web site tedbardy.com
2. Acting school for film and television. That obviously for just film and tv and offer showcase at the end of each phase and its pretty good too. A must take if your focus is just film and tv.

Honestly I would go for Ted Bardy its way cheaper and it helps you alot with getting rid of stage fright and helps you become very confident with your acting.
HOPE THAT HELPED.
