Just thought to place a follow up on Tom and Megan Woodard,(owners of The Directors Playhouse/Mentor Studio.
This is an email sent to me by Tom Woodard on Oct 16 in regards to the above post I placed here back in June 25th.
I think it sums up everything,(in Toms own words):
I was very disappointed and pissed off, frankly, to see the post you put on the internet below.
I can’t believe you make us out the way you do. A Friend said she knew a guy who was really hurting for money and work and who would help with a web site for a few hundred bucks. We did nothing but try to help you and get a little work done for the studio. We gave you coffee, you came and worked here, we drove you back to Santa Monica and you have the nerve to write what you did? What’s the point?
I will ask you kindly to remove the posting from Backstage.
I really thought you were at least a bigger man than this...

I Replied that I, as a professional, would not make such a retraction simply because all that I had stated was in fact true. I also pointed out that such a condescending attitude directed at me as well as their marginalization of my efforts and abilities was not only rude but unacceptable.
With that note, I was given a quick reply from Mr. Woodard;

You’d make a great politician, or maybe a speech writer, at best. Anyway, I hope you got whatever satisfaction you were seeking by airing your mental meanderings to some unknown audience on a useless website nobody cares about. You have no business talking about the services we provide to clients, because you are not informed. And the bottle redemption business has ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with the studio or the services provided and you frankly don’t know shit about it so to go public and talk about it as you do, and think it has anything to do with our business, is very irresponsible.

Yes, Mr. Woodard did throw other remarks yet one can see a frame of mind both Tom and Megan Woodard follow. One of the major reasons I decided to withdraw my services is simply because they did not inform me of anything at all. Rather, they both came off in a manner that was highly suspicious as to their intent and worst of all, they both didn't feel they were answerable to their actions/in-actions.
Yes Tom, I must say you are correct, I was not informed of anything with the business,(I was only asked to build and develop a website for them),. Go figure, is it only me who see's such a conflict?
I did find it entertaining that Tom did state that the bottle redemption business has ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with the studio or the services provided. I think the point isn't as much the operation of the studio and services as much, the character of both Tom and Megan. For Tom to interject with a derogatory message toward me because of his own background and track record is highly irresponsible and it shows quite clearly. As for my original post, I only stated from what I observed from them. It is more then obvious that many others have felt the same way seeing that so many articles and posts,(both from local News Agencies as well, You-Tube videos), are presently online.
I find it ironic that with as many others who posted in as many forums, Tom would write to me, "Demanding", I retract the post I composed here.

Tom did write in his note this;
I have learned that you certainly march to the beat of a different drummer, and that’s great, but we learned not a fit in our situation. Which is fine and I accepted it.
My only reply; I am a professional that has an ethical standard when I am doing business with all my clients and colleagues. I dont know what he drums to yet its obvious Tom,(with Megan following), not only doesn't care but worse of all, they both accept that. To me, that is unquestionably being Irresponsible...
I hope this may find interest to those that Tom Woodard states are "just some unknown audience" on a useless website nobody cares about.
