Preparing for cold read Login/Join

I have an audition for Steel Magnolias coming up soon which will be a cold read format. What is the best way to prepare for this?

Is it better to rehearse several different ways/ motivations for each line?

Should I take the time to map out the past, present, and future for the two characters I'm auditioning for?

Or would preparing too much just be a waste of time?

Thanks for any help!

What do you mean by cold read audition?

How can you rehearse a cold read?

Are they giving you sides that are different than Steel Magnolias at the audition?

Or did they give you the sides in advance?

If the sides are given out during the audition, then give yourself at least 15-20 minutes and at least focus on the relationship, environment, and moment before.

Make strong choices, but be ready to roll with the punches if they redirect you.
