If you want to learn the traditional 2 year way then Baron/Brown or Elizabeth Mestnik would be it.

I don't have that kind of patience to commit to one school for two years. I studied with R.J. Adams who studied with Meisner, himself, and Charles Conrad, who was one of Meisner's greatest disciples who adapted Meisner to on camera. He doesn't believe that you need the two years to be good.

Other Meisner based schools:
*=On camera
Playhouse West
*Clay Banks
*Steve Eastin
*Jen Krater
*David Kagen
*Jeremiah Comey
Alderson
Ruskin

Looked into this list, and it looks like two or three are in North Hollywood and Studio City. I'm not familiar with the lake. Is there anyone you suggest in Pasadena? Or do you think it's necessary to stick to your list only?

I don't know of any schools in Pasadena. With the exception of maybe Pasasena Center for Design, which is a good film school, Pasadena is one of those "out of the way" zones for actors. You can choose to live there to get away from the craziness that is LA, but don't expect to find much acting related.

Most of the LA acting schools are either in NoHo/Burbank, Studio City, and West Hollywood areas. And of course there are a few in the Santa Monica area like Baron/Brown.

Ummm ... No, I don’t recall having ever encountered a talking seal. Now I feel cheated! LOL Was this not grounded in specific physical actions? If not, it probably came from somewhere else.

Thank you for this question. This is Kimberly Jentzen here Smiler ... my exercise is better explained in my book, Acting with Impact, and it is intended to help the actor develop their imagination, confidence and sensory work. It's inspired by my working with George Shdanoff, who was Chekhov's teaching partner. But it is actually the exercise prior to the one described above, that is Chekhov, George called it "Lightness and Ease". Visualization work was something I did as a young actor that resonated with other actors. I continued this work because it gives my students many benefits. Both of you are welcome to email me directly at: info@kimberlyjentzen.com for any further questions. Stay well and keep going! Best of luck to you on your acting journey.
