I like being me.
I have a fun filled full life outside of acting.
I dont need to carry it home nor would i want too. because it's not me, its only MY CHOICES, its real for only a few minutes during takes but not based on any personal baggage or past experience and it's not mixed up with any of my personal stuff.
I do totally agree that egos can get out of hand with people. But it is healthy to have a good ego, just not one that is out of check with what really matters. Health and Mental well being to name a few... On an even deeper level... Relying on something external, like "acting"or "success" for happiness and peace of mind would make anyone act crazy and want to abuse substances.
Method acting can be so dangerous. I'v gotten in so much trouble with strangers, friends and family for being someone else. I try not to take it too far before someone locks me up lol |

being and actor myself i'm a fan of those rules .I think method acting isn't acting at all.Actors are not in the business of reality we are in the illusion making business .Very similar to magicians we can make it appear .Like we are sawing a woman in half.A method actually wants to saw a woman in half .
How is that acting ? like heath ledger for instance .The guy killed it in The dark knight the lengths he went to create the character.while affected were not needed or when christian bale dropped weight for the machinist.Thats going way to far its a game your supposed to be having fun.Not killing yourself like my little league coach always said.Leave it on the field;maybe lee strasberg should of taught his students that as well.
Lee strasberg taught people the opposite of acting. He taught people how to just be themselves. That's not acting whenever you encounter a role it's not written for you. It's not written about you its about someone else .One thing i learnt from watching entourage is that it seems in hollywood. The roles that are offered accomplished actors .More often than not seem to be tailor made for them.
To me that's not right i hope lee strasberg is rotting in hell.
haha poor lee strasbourg. but any who, your right. what is the point of being your self when performing. It's so boring. Being someone else that is the compleat opposite from your self is so rewarding. Especially living it for long period of time. If I have to play a person that is close to my self or perform as my self, I think I will just jump off a cliff out of boredom. I'm a big fat clown and it's great to be someone opposite.. especially someone that will teach me a thing or too... |

Not the ones who know how to separate work from regular life. Bryan Cranston said it very well during a podcast with the Nerdist; he said that after a day of shooting, he sits in a chair, wraps his face in hot towels, and then just lets everything wash off. |

True. It's quite interesting. When I watch interviews of my favorite performers on film & tv I see the "mask" of their character living on their faces. not much their voices & bodies though. I always get this wearied feeling of an intruder on the seat of the interviews. Like it's them, but it's not them. Like as if their character's presence hasn't left the room yet. It's the same thing when I watch them in their premiers and festivals. It sends chills down to my spine....lol |
