chocolate, coffee, dairy. and bacon always give me trouble...which makes me think - would I rather have clear skin, or be BORED TO DEATH haha!
Ben peroxide..anything with this in it works dont dont use anything that says acid ..before i went out to cali in 07 i had flawless skin hardly ever broke out ..i 6months into being out there i had what looked like knotts on my face..i started taking garlique oil gel pills ..anything with 5-10% ben peroxide moisterize with vitamin E cream..drink lots of water .and i mean LOTS OF WATER!!!
I have had a lot of problems with acne as well. I have tried practically every single formula to help. What really helped me was to go to the dermatologist. They gave me a lot of topical creams as well as medicine. This helped my skin clear up and have a little glow to it! Good luck!
I did not have enough energy to read all the comments. But I will recommend you "Roaccutane".
After you use like 4-6 months (that will be your Dr.'s decision depending on your acne situation) your face will be like baby ass:]. However, there are side effects.
Ask to your doctor.
basically wash your face with neutrogina soap
with the orange bar ( acne prone skin) and make sure to use a moisturizer thereafter since the soap dries out the skin
and by following these instructions you will achieve no acne
Try using a Clarisonic. I have the Clarisonic MIA, its $119 at Sephora but so worth it! It lessened my breakouts and my skin is flawless now, glowing. I always had good skin to begin with but now it's like almost flawless.
Drink lots of water. And avoid junk or greasy food. Do it for a month or two.
dont use OTC products ..use peroxide or rub bing alcohol ..and cotton swabs in the morning and before you go to bed ..the alcohol opens up pores and the swabs wipes away al;ll the dirt build up..you'll be surprised at how many times you have to wipe ur skin off till its clean you'll see all the dirt and grime on the cotton swabs ..just keep doing this ...(how do i know) because i lived in LA for a year and i broke out big time ..i was at a rite aid pharmacy and someone suggested i try that instead..it workd big time ..it works with getting rid of scars to ...once u use the peroxcide use a lotion that contains vitamin E ..to moisterize your skin ..that and drink loads of water ..they say you should be drinking at least 5 liters of water a day ...Hope this helps ....dont buy anything with salyric acid in it ..anything with peroxcide in it is alot better and if you do use OTC make sure u use it as a spot treatment only
sorry if this was already mentioned, but i didnt want to read all 7 pages :P
when i was 20, i found something that FINALLY got rid of acne. no gimmicks, no BS. it really worked. about a year ago, i found another one that is about 95% as good. details below:
#1: Daniel Kern's Regimen (www.acne.org)
put simply, this is the only acne treatment i have ever found to be simple, effective, long-lasting, and, most importantly, EFFECTIVE (yes, i said it twice). i used this for about 3 years (why i moved on, youll see below) and i went from constantly having 2-4 pimples (some large, some small) around my forehead and lips, to having 1-2 pimples every 6 months. i am not exaggerating. its pretty simple: cleanse, apply benzoyl peroxide, moisturize. ive recommend this to friends as well who have had worse skin than i did, and they are totally clear now too. you do, however, have to follow "The Regimen" PERFECTLY. you cannot skip days, you cannot do it once/day, and you really do need to use the specific BP he sells (ive used others before, when i was in another country, and it works, but was only about 75% as effective). its not very expensive ($20-$25/mo), and i highly, highly recommend it. another caveat: it takes 4-5 months to really see results, and your skin might look worse until then, and you will keep breaking out (until about 2-3 months). i almost quit so many times, but i stuck with it, and i was so happy.
#2: Carley's Clear and Smooth (www.clearandsmoothskin.com)
i stopped the regimen because i have naturally dry skin, and the weather in LA coupled with using BP one day made my skin super dry around my mouth. i really dont know why this happened, and i dont think it was totally weather related because it didnt happen until id lived here for 15 months or so, but it did. and having a gross, dry patch of skin is not the best thing for anybody, let alone an actor (id rather risk the pimples, to be honest). no amount of moisturizing helped either. so i got off The Regimen, and my skin was still not bad, but i did get pimples every now and then. i found Carley's randomly (i think it was reviewed on the Acne.org site), and tried it. it's much easier, you dont have to let the BP dry on your face (cleanse, wash, cleanse), and i has pretty much cleared up my skin again. the only thing is that The Regimen took care of those annoying whiteheads that, while not that noticeable, are annoying if you're up close and personal with someone. they never really come to a head, but i would just prefer to have zero skin problems as opposed to one. but, nonetheless, i get very few breakouts (about the same as The Regimen), and its quicker and easier. and cheaper. i havent tried the treatment that's specifically for teenagers with severe acne, so maybe ill try that and see if it helps at all. this one also takes 3-5 months (im on month 5 now, and ive been pretty consistently clear for 1-2 months).
in the end, The Regimen for sure works the best, but is a bit more tedious and takes a little longer. Carley's is easier, cheaper, but doesnt clear up *everything*. also, ive read about some people having bad reactions to Carley's on the acne.org message boards... but i tend to be skeptical of those posts because theyre usually angsty teens who dont see results in 3 weeks and instantly rant about it on the internet. but i thought id throw it out there.
First of all you have to avoid fast food..Wash your face at least 3-4 times in a day...Clean your face by milk including lemon juice..
update: carley's clean and clear didnt really end up working that well in the end. i still broke up enough to bother me.
im back on The Regimen, and it's working amazingly. only been 1.5 weeks but it's already significantly improved my skin. in another month to two months, i should be completely clear.
i definitely recommend trying this to anyone who really wants to get rid of acne. (acne.org)
p.s. no, as some people have PM'd me, i am not working for them or anything. check out the website and see for yourself. their website/forum literally has about 1000 people on at any given time.
I'm a huge huge HUGE fan of Clinique's skin care line. I use the tiffany blue colored bottles that is for ance and when my skin in feeling overly dry I stop using the toner and the lotion and only use the cleanser. I have the same problem where everything dries out my skin, and this is the most gentle I've had.
To add moisture back in my skin I use the pink jar I think it's moisture surge, and the eye cream in the littler pink jar. Then once my skin is a lot clearer I use the dark spot treatment to dull the scars and marks.
It's worked for me so far!

Has anyone tried Clinique Starter Kit? I'm thinking of ordering their whole kit + mask.
I use Tea Tree Oil from The Body Shop. Their Tea Tree line is for those with acne and blemishes. Tea tree is supposed to be anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory. I've tried a lot of drugstore products and prescription topical solution, but so far this is the only thing that clears up my acne.
