Hey all. So i have a few minor acne scars that I want to get rid of. I have been hearing that putting squeezed lemon juice on it for about 10 mins will get rid of the scars. Can anyone confirm through experience that it works? Does it make your face go back to how to looked before you had a pimple or does it just make the scar not as noticeable? Thanks

Scarring on the skin is permanent. You can cover it up and lessen their prevalence. But if it's scar tissue there is no way to get rid of it.

Be careful what you do to your face.

I'd consult with a dermatologist if the scar is so distracting it needs medical removal. Ask other people... maybe it's more jarringly obvious to you.

If you want to buy something at a drugstore, there's a product called Mederma that is supposed to lessen the appearance of scars.

Lemon juice is highly acidic. Don't listen to old wives remedies.

Mederma is awesome. It is used by burn victims and cancer patients.

I don't know about Lemon Juice, that seems pretty harsh for the skin...

I've heard recently that a mixture of honey, nutmeg, and cinnamon used as a mask helps with exfoliation and the reduction of acne scars.

Good luck! Smiler

WATER! Also a healthy diet and a good nights rest.

Once a week you can exfoliate with sugar and lemon juice & water (50/50). Or just use water because lemon juice will lighted your skin. Also use a good mask. Dont do both on the same day though. There is this green mud type mask kind you can get at any drug store that has queen in the name I believe.

Daily wash you face with a simple face wash and olive oil (it sounds silly, but is amazing!). Moisturizer at night (I use coconut oil)

These oils shouldn't break you out.

Both of my cheeks are filled with rolling scars. It's pretty awful. But the more I take care of myself the less noticeable they are! Hopefully this works for youas well Wink

I don't know about lemon juice, but one thing that I used to do that HELPED A LOT was potatoes. I would cut a slice of potato and rub it on my skin, leave it for ten or so minutes then wash it off. On another note, putting honey on your face works too...

So, what properties of the potato or honey would be beneficial for your skin? I'd love to hear the actual scientific basis for it other than your anecdotal evidence, which could just as well have been your skin taking care of the acne itself, leaving you to believe that potatoes contain the magical properties of rubbing out pimples.

Rub some ice cubes in a pack on the affected area. This soothes the irritated skin and also shrinks the size of pores. It's a good remedy. Someone here asked about invicible ! Well , i've used it and it worked pretty well on my surgery scars. The invicible scar is really effective in reducing the scars of all types. It is a good choice for scar removal but will require few weeks to heal, depending upon the age of your scars.

You really need to see a dermatologist. My kid spent all kinds of $ for the over the counter stuff, only to find that she was allergic to it all.

Completely agree but one has to remember that lemon juice is not something which can be used directly as of it itching can be occurred so always mix it with something and then apply.

Schmear some dog poo on your skin. I swear, it works because it worked for my friend's friend's dad's brother's former roommate.
