I thought I would start this thread, showing examples of good auditions of both child actors and adults, and what it's like to be in the moment. This first one with Henry Thomas says it all! Thank you A.Henry and L.Picotte for passing it along.

If anyone has another "good" example to share, please add it to this thread.

WOW! That was absolutely crazy. Goes to show how amazing kids can be.

This one of Rachel McAdams for 'The Notebook' is also amazing:

the rachel mcadams one was ok she's to quick to emotion .Shes play acting ,the kid from E.T perfect example of being in the moment great clip .I got and audition today myself where im cold reading three different monologues .Instead of trying to control im just accepting and deciding to surrender to the moment .I think the moment is the only control and actor has

Well duh she nailed that audition she got the movie (HA!) .Her acting was good it was just typical .Nothing special about it she was so quick to start crying. It just seemed like it didn't come from anywhere.I've seen alot of auditions online.Especially the emotional ones and alot of actors/actresses do the same thing.Doesn't feel as authentic like she forced it out

What are you waiting for though? They want to see crying. It's just most people don't say the find her audition just OK and have a good reply why it is that way. I really doubt anyone else came in that waited to cry and had as a great of an audition as her.

" They want to see crying"..How do you know what they want ? .when your auditioning they just want to see you perform the material .The scene didn't need the crying. Its just that most actors are so quick to emotions almost like theres no rationale behind it .

Emma Stone's audition for Easy A. I loved the movie and her audition tape seemed to be the exact way she acted in the movie, which im not sure is a good thing or a bad thing.

What do you think? It no doubt sounded natural but do you think it was great?

I've always been a fan of Emma Stone's but I never noticed how much she blinks until now.

Truthteller, I'm a fan of Emma Stone's wit and humor, but sometimes I wonder if she can do anything other than comedy. Although I didn't see the movie "The Help", not sure if that was a comedy or not. I would love to see her in a role that involves more depth.

She was good in "The Help." Comedy is harder.
