Has anyone ever submitted a video audition? I was told to have the video in Quicktime format and to upload it to yousentit or something like that. Alright….. so how do I even begin? I have a video camera (not that smart with it) a regular camera that takes video and a laptop that can video… well I’ve used it for skype. I have a friend who has an ipad with a camera but I do not have a Mac to download the video. And paying someone to do this for me is not an option. I need to learn how to do this anyway. Any advice? Have you done this? What did you use? I did do a search for older posts but nothing or I asked the question wrong. Thanks

Record the video with your camera. Make sure you're against a plain wall, well lit and frame yourself from you lower chest up and don't leave too much dead space above your head (there are videos on youtube about how to frame the best self-tapes - watch those.) Have someone read the lines of the other person off-camera. Do not look at the camera - look at your reader. Once you have the video done, plug the camera into your laptop and transfer the file to the laptop. Open the file in a video editing program like iMovie and trim off any extra space, or mistakes or whatever. Save the file as a .mov file as the people requested. Then go to WeTransfer.com or YouSendIt.com and upload the mov file - you can then send a link to the castign people to download your movie.
