Is it a bad idea to submit a head shot with a slightly disheveled hairstyle? I sometimes enjoy wearing that look as much as other styles. Not wanting to look crazy or sleazy. Sometimes being perfectly well groomed isn't the best choice in life or roles.
Is cheerful and well groomed the best way to go? Head-shots just aren't my thing. Advice appreciated. Thanks in advance.
You mean like Jimmy Fallon or Seth Meyers? It doesn't bother them.
I think it's not so much a question of comfort as a question of what your "type" is and the kind of roles you go for. If you normally play a slacker, a criminal, an eccentric comedic type, or other types who aren't likely to be perfectly groomed, then a headshot with disheveled hair would work great. But if you nomally play lawyers or businessmen, then it wouldn't.
Cool. Will mix it up.
I'd like to host to SNL someday but have no plans to audition for the cast. Film acting is my path.
Doing reality style talk show work is a side thing I enjoy. Nearly very chance I got in a TV studio has been used for comedy. Never did a comedy film, maybe never will. My film acting is crime-thriller, drama, money/power, and action. Found a kick ass Krav Maga coach today.
