Ugh... I still wouldn't give him $300.

What do you guys have against Peter Hurley? I know several actors that have used him and get auditions for guest stars, Broadway shows and commercials all the time.

I don't understand what the big deal is with Theo and Juliet. Can somebody enlighten me as to why their pictures stand out? Maybe it is just personal taste but I don't like the way they light their shots and find their portfolio to be kind of blah.

Hello all. Happy New Year. I just wanted to weigh in here with what I learned during my most recent headshot experience. My agent was urging me to get new headshots. I was happy with mine but was not auditioning nearly as much as I would have liked, so I decided to take her advice. My agent had a list of photographers she recommended. I called about five photographers on the list ranging in price from $300 to $1000. I didn't want to spend almost $1000 as I liked the headshots I had and was mostly doing this to make my agent happy, so my goal was to choose a photographer that in the $300-400, however, I wanted to see what was out there so I called photographers with varying prices. I had spoken with three of them when Juliet (of Theo and Juliet) called me back. Within the first minute of speaking to Juliet, I knew that without a doubt Theo and Juliet were going to be my choice. Juliet had already pulled up my picture on imdb and was offering me her thoughts and opinions on the kind of looks we should go for and how we can improve my chances of getting called in for auditions. Her guidance was so specific and so tailored to my needs. Her wardrobe consultation is extensive and again, specific which I love considering I have such a hard time making up my mind. Ask her anything and she will give you a straightforward answer. I waited to write this response until I saw my proofs and I was floored by Theo's ability. I have more variety in my proofs than I have ever had from any other headshot session. I have had my headshots done by four other photographers in LA and a few of them were also really great, but this is the happiest I have ever been. I started out only wanting to spend as little money as possible and get the best return for it and what I discovered is that you get what you pay for. Theo and Juliet are expensive, yes, but I think their price is a true reflection of their quality and the services they provide. Anyways, I just wanted to share my experience with everyone as I stumbled upon this thread while researching photographers. I hope this helps anyone else on the hunt.

That's very helpful (though it's still up in the air, just because, please take no offense, this is your first post ever). I don't have a spare thousand at the moment, though, but if I did I would consider hiring them.

GoodVibesForAll, no offense, but when someone has never posted here before and their first and only post is gushing with praise over a company, one can't help but think "shill".

Can you post your headshots here, so we know that you're for real and not someone working for the company?

No offense taken. It is my first post. Very true. I just don't' usually weigh in on these types of things unless I have something valuable to say. In this case, I have shot with the photographer being discussed and my experience was in such contrast with what others here had said, that I absolutely wanted to weigh in.
