Hello,
I am struggling choosing my headshot.
These are my top choices for my theatrical shots and commercial shots. Please tell me your favorite(s).
Any feedback would be great.

These photos have not been edited/retouched.
Do you think retouching is needed?

If you could help me narrow them down or tell me which ones you like for theatrical or commercial that would be MUCH APPRECIATED!!!

I would say 2 for theatrical because it is more cropped in than 5, and it has the muted colors you want in a theatrical headshot.

6 should be your commercial headshot because it shows a personality that will get you in old navy and target commercials. It also has the bright preppy look of a commercial headshot. I think there should be a bit of editing done on number 6 to brighten you and maybe darken the background a bit, since the pink wall behind you is a bit distracting, especially considering that you are wearing a pink blouse and your skintone has a pinkish hue.

I personally would have told the photographer to choose a different background than the pink when you had the pink blouse on. It seems to be a theme since you also had a purple background with a purple shirt. You should really consider getting shots outside for your next photoshoot, just not in front of any plants or bright red brick walls lol.

I agree #2 makes a great theatrical look; the leather jacket is very chic. I would suggest cropping it in just a tiny bit more, to help center you in the frame. You seem to be slipping out of the photo.

I think #6 is a cutesy commercial shot, and I like the pastel color palette in #7, and wouldn't mind to see alternatives of that one.

RE: retouching, it's always best to start with photos that look great out of camera, but it never hurts to do a little extra retouching, so long as it's minimal, undetectable, and enhances an already good-looking photo.

Yes, I think 2 and 6 are the best.

Too much makeup in #7 for an athletic look. I work out where there are mostly hot women, but not even they wear that much makeup when working out.

Hi Caroline,
I like 1 and 9. I think number 1 is good for shows like Pretty Little Liars and CW stuff. 9 is a cute commercial, I agree that I am not crazy about the matchy match shirt/background, but I like your smirk better than the smiling shot and it feels commercial to me. The only thing that bugs me is the yellow tanktop showing through the pink shirt. I also want to add, these are lovely, but I think that you have the potential to play very young high school and I don't think any of these shots serve you for that age. They are all a little sexy and grown up and I think you need one that is fresh face and very young/innocent.
Hope that helps

I agree with Joanna. 1, 2 & 9 are my favorites. I also like the smirk photos more than the smiling one, but it depends on which one you think represents your type best.

Who took your headshots?

6 is my favorite commercial shot. But I'm not digging the pink on pink look. It's too "girly" and artificial, I think. A good retoucher could knock the background color out, and I think it would be a stronger headshot.

5 - theatrical. It is cropped better than 2. 2 looks like you are "peeking in". Distracting.

6 - commercial. Although, I think you can do better. I love your look.
