Hi everyone, I have submitted to MANY youth agencies for both commercial and/or theatrical representation. I haven't/didn't hear back from any of them. Being non-union and having no co-star roles, I thought that a youth agency would be more open to taking me on but maybe I see myself different than other people see me and submitting to adult agencies might be more appropriate. Could I please ask your advice? Based on my headshot, do you think youth agencies or adult is more appropriate? Thanks!

As the Mom of a preteen and two teenagers the big, long eye lashes and dark liner stood out to me as possibly detrimental to being thought of in a teen role. A photo retoucher may be able to soften those items. Otherwise, I think your photo is lovely.

Yeah, those eyelashes make you look more mature and for sure in your early 20s to mid 20s.

Oh wow, thank you so much myCosette and Truthteller. That is very valuable feedback; I appreciate it. I have always had huge lashes and never considered that affecting not being right for "teen" roles.

I shoot a lot of kids and we barely, if ever use makeup other than to cover blemishes. You should, however, have a hair stylist. The clothing and background could have lent to the young look more as well.
