Hi LisaRenee,
I don't love this shot. For commercials, it's better to have a lighter background. This feels like the tank top and background would be a theatrical shot but you are smiling for a commercial shot so it doesn't really work. I think you would be a "young mom" and this isn't a young mom shirt, it needs a hoodie or button-down over it. I don't think the tank top works for your age range unless it is a "fitness" shot, which this kind of tank and shot is not. You have a great figure, but you would never be wearing that for a commercial shoot. The background is similar tones to your hair and skin which I don't like either. Your smile is nice, but the shot is not specific in the right ways. I hope that makes sense? For commercials, you should have a specific "mom" shot, an upscale business and a hip/fashion mom.
Hope that helps?

Joanna, Thanks for your feedback. I don't believe "young mom" is suitable for me because I'm in my mid-50s. I don't want to try to look like I'm that young again so I wouldn't feel right in a hoodie. I've added additional headshops for feedback also. Thanks again!

Hi LisaRenee,
The problem with the blue tank is that it looks like you are trying to be a lot younger than you are. Maybe "Mom" then, instead of "young mom" either way, the tank is just not right. If not a hoodie, then a button down casual shirt or a nice cardigan over your tank top. I think the tank makes the shot about your body and it doesn't make sense for your age bracket or type. The suit shot is ok, I just don't like how you are crammed in the frame with that angle. I like the sly look you have going on, but not the way the shot is angled. You are super lovely looking and deserve great headshots, these are just not serving you very well. The other 2 new shots you added are not any different than the first, except the cropping.

Not sure that I agree that a commercial headshot has to have a light background -- I think the fact that you're wearing bright colors makes up for the dark background. That being said, Joanna is right that the tank top is definitely not the right look to sell yourself as a woman in her 40s/50s. I wouldn't suggest going all the way to the suit-look for your commercial headshot, but something in between would certainly better help you get the right auditions.

Thanks Brett for your feedback. Do you think I can use this headshot for finding an agent, while I work on getting new headshots for auditioning as suggested.

Hi Lisa,

I never would have guessed you're in your mid-fifties. and I think you have a really nice look. IMHO, don't send out head shots to agents until you have better photos. At your age, as an actor, you better make it crystal clear to an agent, how you might fit in to their roster. Don't make them guess, they'll just move on.

Joanna and Brett told you what kind of shots you need to help you do that.
