Hello,

Which headshot do you think is the strongest? I will appreciate your feedback, comments and most importantly your time.

Thanks!

I think the second one is the best. I love your connection with the camera. I would use that for your main headshot.

But you could also print a few copies of the bottom one for specific roles. (But IMO, have the retoucher do something about the distracting reflection in your eyes.)

Hi Amit,
I think your skin tone is really washed out and the light is very flat in these. The last shot, your skin tone is blown out and your forehead and cheeks are glowing white. You are doing a nice job connecting as an actor but the lighting is not good. The reflection in your eyes does need adjusted. Were you wearing contact lenses? That can happen from contacts but it's an easy fix. The second shot is more specific but again the lighting is very flat and you look washed out there also. I hate the tank top on you in the last shot, it doesn't make sense because you don't have a tough vibe at all but I prefer your hair less slicked back. I don't like over gelled hair because it makes hair look greasy.
Hope that helps

3rd one is my favorite by far, I actually really like the tank top. You actually look like a Bollywood leading man in that one, but I agree that the lighting is a little off.

You look a bit more awkward in the first and second. And I'm not feeling the fuzzy jacket collar. In the first shot you almost look cross-eyed. In the second one your eyes are off too. Notice that your left eye (right side of the pic) has a lot more eyelid showing in shot 2, so your eyes look a little wonky. Even if someone doesn't notice it straight off the bat, it will have a subconscious effect on people.

I agree with Joanna and Dennis about the lighting/editing. I think the hot are within the range of fixable though.

But if you go with #3, PLEASE make the retoucher blur out the background. I hate (yes, hate) painted backgrounds like that. It looks nice when completely blurred out like it is on the right side of the frame, but looks cheesy on the left side of the frame.

I'll throw in a vote for the last photo, though it does need some retouching and adjustments.
I think the hairstyle and tanktop match well for some good specific roles, with various ethnic American stereotypes (Brooklyn Italian-American, Miami Puerto Rican, etc etc)
Clean it up some and it can be be a strong theatrical headshot. You seem to connect well with the viewer.

The second I don't think works at all, as the lighting is dull and flat, and the fact that you are turned away and cropped (crammed) into the left half of the frame, makes you seem really disengaged. Also, brick walls RARELY make good background choices.

The first works but I don't get any "wow" factor from it.
