I just moved down here for school and from where I am they had a great website to post for non-union short film and indie films if they needed talent.
I've been searching the web, and I have yet to find a reliable source unfortunately.
How do any of the aspiring actors find non-union work down here without being represented yet??
Yup, The Southern casting Call website. A lot of the work is word of mouth and they come find you. Which doesn't help you, very much. But Southern casting is a great place to get your foot in the door and meet some people to start your NC network going. There are also some FB pages you can try: http://www.facebook.com/groups/279831775416271/
Then there are tons of film community groups that set up meet ups where you can actually meet the people in the biz here. I don't know what area you live in, so bare with me.
I go to the Charlotte meet up the most, it's the closest to me and all the others are on days that conflict with my busy schedule, but I hear that Raleigh's is really good and the SC one too. There are probably more that I didn't put in, but this will keep you busy. Check them out and I hope I see you there!!
