We were very slow at 2. Busier at 3, but since my kids were small for age they have been much much busier since they fit into a 3T. More commercial auditions at age 4 too. Are you on her FB page?

Yeah, I hear you. Have you asked her how many jobs your child gets submitted on?

I am with Paloma and had sent alysa a note asking how many submissions have there been. She was nice enough to pull a report and show me exactly. I think it's fine to ask. I will probably ask again in a couple months if nothing else has happened. We are also doing new photos this week. You may just want to ask their opinion about even switching out photos if they aren't working.

I think mad's idea is great. When we had our pics redone recently my kids suddenly got way more auditions. So it may have been age, or photos, or both.

So based on your suggestions I emailed Alysa and asked her for advice. Still haven't heard back. I do think it has to do with the photosheet. My child has adorable dimples that did not even show up in the photosheet.....and I knew right away I wanted new pix, lol!!!

Hi...that's another reason I would have to say this bus is part time...when it's slow, it's part time...when it's busy..it's full time...it's a great way to look at it...don't get down...just enjoy your down time cause you'll be busy before you know it!!!! Not all kids will go out on the audition....then it'll be your turn and they will be slow...that's what I'm seeing across the board! Anyhow, hope your having a great day and don't get too down! Happy Spring! Smiler Smiler Smiler

nictim7...how do you do this part time? i was reading posts on another thread about turning down auditions, is that what you mean? by only selectively choosing which auditions to go to? i am not judging. i am just trying to figure how you can do this part time. my kids are not always busy. in fact there are times when i wonder if the agent remembers who they are. but there are also times when we are so busy my head spins. unless there is something completely unavoidable we always go to auditions. this is not the only thing my kids do, they hang out with friends, play sports and are in classes not acting related. again, please don't take this as a jab. i am truly trying to understand the part time participation.

Hi all babies...I know, i have only turned down the ones we couldn't make it to because of good reason. Like I mentioned before, I think that our agent just meant there will be times that are slow for all...that's what they meant by part time...in the beginning we were slammed and I had no idea what the heck was happening ..I was so CLUELESS...LOL...and couldn't possibly make it to all...she had her play she was in about 12 of them ...and then she was sick...and some testing in school and then there were a couple that were back to back...she had a callback at one point and we couldn't make it to another audition all the way across LA so we had to choose between the two..that's all I meant. However, she booked one and we've been on about four auditions since and all those callbacks.. so to us, that is also a lot! Taking this down time and loving it. So we do what we can..we try to make all of them...I'm sure it will pick up again ... maybe it was super busy because she was a new face. We take this business lightly and make sure we're having fun. I am respectful of the agent and give all that we possibly can when we can...we can probably only do 1 audition a week if that...I have five kids and need to be here for them. So it is hard but I know some kids that are home schooled and can go out like 10 times a week. I guess if the agent is willing to take on the child and can work with them...that's the best bet!
Hope this helps...that's all I mean by part time...not that I choose what to go to when we want to...LOL! Have a great night~! Smiler

I interpreted what nictim said to mean that when it's slow, it's part time, when it's busy, it's full time.

Yes, twintoddlers ...that's exactly what I meant! I'm guessing that's what the agent meant as well...that CD's will choose your kids sometimes...a lot and sometimes...not ....it's not the agent always. They can submit when they can and it's up to the other guy to pick if our kids get to go! It's a crazy bus...but fun too! Have a great night too! Smiler
