Why are you unhappy with your current agency? I see Paloma's kids at auditions all the time. Sometimes it is just slow.

We are with Paloma...only 2 months but no auditions. In fact I recently asked them about us not getting out...She said its age. But we were with someone else and they said its age and once she hits 2 it should change..So I think its just an excuse much of the time. I honestly don't feel a warm and fuzzy feeling myself. I know and talk to others that have kids in the 2 range and they get out. So, if she doesn't have the look or photos are not good, I kinda wish they would just come right out. But I just feel brushed off...So not sure myself. My daughter is not mixed so I know that has a little to do with it. But jury is still out. I don't like to be brushed off. That's not a good way to start out...

If you are not comfortable with the agency then maybe you should consider other options. My guess is it may be the same with another agency. Are you on her Facebook page? Tons of kids are out daily and booking too. We are with Paloma and are very happy. My kids were very slow at age 2. Now they are 4 and size 3t and get about one audition a week, sometimes more. Many others are out more often than we are. There are soooo many factors such as age, gender, ethn, look and luck that affect the likelihood of an audition. There is a lot of competition out there after twelve months. Not as much work again until 3 except in commercials and even then 3 year olds are much easier to work with than 2 year olds. Have you asked her how often she submits your child? She will tell you.

I agree that it is the age. My DD as well as a few other kiddos I know slowed around 18 mos but got SUPER busy right after 2. We are all with different agencies in L.A. You should feel comfortable with the agency your with so it's ultimately up to you but I do think it's the age right now. From what I know of PMT kids, they get out and work a lot. We are not with PMT.

Yes, he isn't getting out much. And as you all say 2 should get busier....which is my concern. He isn't busy. So I wonder are we getting lost in the shuffle? Do they not submit or forget or whatever...hmmm

We are with Paloma! I absolutely love the community of support she has created with her agency!! I have an 18 month old and we have not been out in maybe 2 months! But I am not afraid...she was very honest with me when I asked her. She told me it will be very slow for us. It may pick up at 2t but from what she said is that 3T is when we should get busy. She wrote me back right away. I would ask her about it, she is very honest and transparent. I know that they had kids going to 18 different auditions today which is fabulous!!! Have faith, I know it's hard to wait but have fun while waiting :-) It's a good chance to meet more moms and enjoy the time it is slow! Good luck :-) and hoping you get out on an audition really soon!

We are with a different agency and recently had the same conversation with our agent. She said things slow down a lot at one year and then don't pick up again until three. Of course it's frustrating when I see kids of similar ages on here and on Facebook booking jobs right now, but I just have to have faith in our agent and try to deal with the fact that casting directors are seeing something in other kids that they're not seeing in my son. I'm working on some new pics as a way to give him a little advantage during this slow time. I've heard from other moms that this has helped.

I was at a commercial audition yesterday and met a mom from Paloma. I think it's just wether or not the children meet the requirements and are chosen to come to the audition a lot of the time. I say, we all can't be busy at the same time ...and there has to be some down time. We just had three weeks off and now two auditions and two casting calls...it's a wave for sure. Be patient and I heard Paloma is awesome! GL and have an awesome day! Smiler

mybear - sorry i didn't realize that your OP said 2 1/2. What size is he? I completely understand if you feel you need to change agents. I moved my DD to my DS's agent even though her original agent was fantastic. Sometimes it's just time to go. However, you should speak to Paloma and see what's up first.

When my kids are in a slow period I self submit. Be picky with the projects you self submit to though.

hmmm, so I'm actually wondering now that my previous agent YTC kept saying at 2 it will get busier, if I was just expected a TON of things coming our way, but in reality it only helps a little. Paloma did tell us it improves slightly but 3 is even more. So I think maybe my expectation were too high bc heather kept saying at 2, at 2 blah blah blah and I had in my mind at 2 it WILL happen...I probably need to chill!

Mybear, that may be the case with you too. Because we listen to our agent and when they tell us something and it doesn't happen, we think something is wrong.

Feeling the same way. Are we getting lost in the shuffle? Seems like the same kids go out all the time?

Maybe you should talk to some of the moms from her FB page and see if they are getting out. But know that there are many variables and an agent sends out kids that CDs want to see. Again, I know its hard to sit and wait but this is the business. We have gone from 1 audition a month to 3 in a week. It comes in waves. Talk to other moms and share your concerns with Paloma. Maybe it's time to change pictures...
