Every casting is different. Of course some requests are very tiny where you are one of VERY few and they won't let anyone in without being on a list. But then there are larger "requests" (like chicco) where additional agencies who are cut throat can easily weasel their way into the castings. This is how the posting before becomes a problem. And it also adds a ton of people to make it busier and make you wait longer.

I agree, it's not helpful to post about a casting before it happens. The reality is that a lot of companies cast in the exact same place season after season and crashers do come and can book. It just means a longer wait for everyone, and it only stresses people out to think they didn't get invited to a casting.

Does anyone know if this is the Chicco brand that typically makes women's clothes? Where would the children's print ad be published? Thanks!

I believe that is CHICO'S spelled differently for the adult line.

Children's ads could be part of ads in family magazines or signage or labels.

Like it or not people DO try to crash castings and sometimes they do book. And I agree - it is annoying to have crashers slow the process down, plus possibly unscrupulous agencies see these postings on this board and arrange to have their kids sent also. Who knows. There just is little value to posting before the fact. Yes - I'd love to know if it will be a big or small casting but you never can tell from replies you get on here anyway. Best in my opinion just to go and then post to see how everyone felt about it and if any word of bookings has happened.

baby model mamma, Chicco (pronounced "kick-oh) is a brand of baby gear and products. They have a big lifestyle campaign -- www.chicco.com. DS shot with them 2 years ago and was on billboards and in magazine ads in Europe and he's still up on their website. They don't advertise the lifestyle ads that much in the US, but they're big in Europe. It's a great job-- good luck to you all!
Chico's is a women's apparel company based out of Florida -- no relation to Chicco. Smiler

Honestly if someone is in the same place for an audition and asks to be seen and actually books what makes the other kids that were requested any better? If the CD wants to shoot the child they must be interested.
Years ago when we were not in the business we happened to be on the floor of a casting because my husband worked there. I didn't know what was happening and asked and they said they were shooting babies for am NM catalog. They saw my daughter and asked if I wanted to come in. We went. Actually got a hold. I wouldn't call that a purposeful crash. Just being in the right place at the right time.

I understand why it's annoying to wait longer and if they want to see other kids they should wait until after the requested children were seen imho. Unfortunately it is the CDs choice whether to wait, see or decline and not ours. It was empty at the time we shot.

Does anyone have the CB date? I was told it shoots Sep 17-22 but someone else at the casting said the CB was the 17th. Thanks and GLTA! And I think it was just a one day casting, so should be safe to post about it now?

Sometimes the cd's request the agents to send a certain amount of kids they think best fit(still request) however maybe the agents and clients decisions don't mesh and some kids get left out of the casting. That is why some kids do better when they switch agencies. Also clients can change what they are looking for from one second to the next. Went to a casting once for one of my children and brought the other along since they had another casting. They asked to see the other even though they did not fit the breakdown by age or sex and was booked. I am sure it happens quite often. I have also been at castings where I overhead other agents calling trying to get their kids in. So people do crash, unscrupulous agent/managers send kids to crash(won't mention any names, and some clients don't seem to mind and book crashers anyway so best not to share casting before they happen.

Wondering what your thoughts are: if they've scheduled another go-see does that mean they didn't find who they were looking for at the last one? GLTA!!!

To me it almost seemed as if they were deciding on the spot. Some kids they did multiple poses and pictures and with others a quick snap and a thank you.
