Hi, my 6yr old daughter is signed with Colleen Cler Agency in Burbank CA and she has an audition for Mattel tomorrow. Any advice on what she should wear?

We usually do "Gap" like attire for most auditions...something simple, clean, nothing too busy in terms of pattern. Pick a color/style that compliments her features...eyes, skin tone, etc. Good luck! Mattel is always fun Smiler

I wish they would let us know when the shoot is or if she got it. This is only our second audition we are new to this.

Hi Manders,

A hold means that your child needs to keep that week avaiable to work because the casting director may book them. It's kind of like a call back for print except that you don't have to go back in. If you aren't on hold that means that you were not right for this job and you can go ahead and book something else for that week.

GLTA means good luck to all, you will see it on here a lot.

so are you saying that the audition that was on tues from 2-5 is already sending out "holds"? Our agency said that they haven't told them when the shoot is and if the kids were picked or not for it. She said they should here soon. so was there more than one audition that day?
Thanks

I think they are booking for several projects from the same auditions, which is why they didn't give specific shoot dates. We went to a Mattel casting the week before you posted about yours, and we just booked a shoot for later this week. But I think they have multiple projects going on, so there is possibility of booking something in the near future. GL!!!

Thank you since we are new to all of this I tend to ask a lot of questions and this is the best place to do it. I would be bugging our agency if I did so thank you. Maybe we will hear something this week or next. Congrats on your booking!

I didn't know this so thank you. Also do you know anything about kids managment or karen renna and associates? If we are with an agency can we still be with a management company for extras in tv, movies etc?
Thank you

Thanks Smiler Yes, you just never know when they hold one casting that they are booking several projects from...sometimes several weeks or a month later they can pull you for something. It's happened to us before! But at the same time, we have been to Mattel castings where they are booking for one specific project in which case it will usually give you shoot date(s) to make sure you are available that particular day.
As far as management companies, I am not too sure. We are only with our agency, no manager or anything like that, but our agency sends us out for TV/movie/commercial stuff too (not extra work...) I am sure you could do both? But I know many people don't recommend background work as it is long hours, little pay, and no help on a resume...but maybe you should ask in the other forum (child actors) on this one. GL!!!
