Hey everyone.. I have a little 5 year old who is new to this but loves it! Question is since most things are audition by request, is there anything I can do to help her be requested? Like the pix her agent has aren't great, I just did them myself, is that part of it?

Yes, I would say headshots are super important, not only for request auditions, but for direct bookings (which is booking without an audition directly from your child's photo.) It can make all the difference in the world, especially since most of the other girls in her age range have professional photos. Many people have their favorite headshot photographers, we use Colette with Lil Toes Photography, she is based in San Juan Capistrano which is a little closer to you than going up to LA. She is awesome! GL!

Thanks for the info.. I will get some better ones done. Here is a silly question. When my agent's clients are looking at her models, what are the looking at? zed cards or online?

Online pics typically...zed cards are for bringing with you to auditions to hand directly to CD. Mostly agents will submit through one of the casting websites (LA Casting, Casting Frontier, etc.) or from agency website. Our agent likes to have a handful of zed cards on hand because they say there are a few clients that like hard copy submissions. But that is few and far between these days Smiler

You almost never will get requested in you haven't first invested in yourself, ie, headshots. You are competing against people who have taken all the proper steps. Sadly, a shot that mom took just won't cut it.

Thank you for that. She has been requested I just think there could be more with better pictures. I guess the first step for a newbie is knowing to get new pictures so I am on the right track Smiler!!
