lowell..you seem to know so much about how generation works. are you with them? my dd has been represented by them for 4 years. i know for a fact that patti doesn't ask parents to be on the website right away bc she knows it's an expense. it's a courtesy. she told me she wants the parents to not feel obligated to spend the money. i wasn't on the site immediately. my dd was was active. her picture was always being sent out bc the office was constantly calling for updated pictures. most of generation kids are active. i know this because i see different children from the agency at every casting or booking. i would check your facts. patti is always on everyone for new pictures. if the parents don't send them what can she do. how do you know so much? it's not right to speak this way if you have no experience with them. what you "imagine" isn't necessarily true.

I would love my kids to be on the site and wouldn't mind paying. I was told before that they need to book more jobs before they can be considered to be put on the site. The person who I spoke to about this has since left Generation. Maybe she gave me wrong information? This whole time I was under the impression that even if I wanted to pay for my kids to be on the site, they can't be on there unless they are booking more often.

not true. i think they just don't want to pressure anyone to spend the money. ask patti. she's the source. she might take a little while to respond but she will. i've never been on this site. it's interesting to hear everyone's take on all the agencies. i try to stay away but someone told me about this thread so i decided to chime in. i won't make a habit of it. i'm too busy w/go sees and bookings, lol.

I had the same experience with my daughters regarding the website as prettygirl. Generation did not ask to include them on the website for several months. After my daughters booked multiple print jobs, Generation suggested that we add them to the site. The fee is $200. However, Generation only charged for one of my daughters and included the other for free. Also, the fee was taken out of money earned so we never paid anything out of pocket. Additionally, anyone with Generation knows that they constantly remind you to provide updated photos and sizes.

I am looking into Generation because Product Model Management posted year old photos to their facebook a couple days ago from diesel and juicy couture.... I work in fashion and recognized both immediately! If they are posting year old photos, either they have few recent bookings to show off, or with the Ford kids situation, they are trying to look busy.

i highly recommend generation, jaco. if you look at their fb page, you'll be impressed. good luck!

prettygirlnyc & jaco8 are Generation plants. They just joined yesterday and today. Generation will be jammed packed with Ford kids and all the kids they have already. If you have 1000 kids to send to every go see then Generation will be booking every job. lolzzz

My daughter is with Product and I am very happy. We have booked Parents magazine, Crayola, QVC and was sent out for a SAG commercial which we won and are getting residuals from. The industry is tough, but Product does a nice job and they are very personable.

First of all jaco8, those Diesel pictures are not a year old. My DS shot for that campaign. They were shot last summer for this past fall/winter campaign which is only now just phasing out of the stores to allow for spring line. And as far as Ford kids all going to Gen. That is not true either. Some may be interested in leaving to join them, others are interested in Product as well as other agencies out there and the remaining majority are waiting this situation out to see what the Ford agents have planned. I'm not with Product nor Generation so cannot speak for either agency as we have no personal experience with either.

They are both great. Newbie, since you are thinking about moving from one to the other, I think going with your "gut" and finding the right "chemistry" is your biggest concern. If you have met with the one you are considering switching to and they are very excited about your child, the switch might be good for you. In terms of which agency is "better" I don't think there is a good answer either way: they are both strong. Go with your gut! Good luck!

It's laughable that anyone would be questioning Product's reputation! Even though DS is not with Product or Generation, we have been attending dozens of shoots every year for 3 years and 9 times out of 10 there is a kid from Product at every shoot. Look at their FB page if you want the most updated booking info-- their kids book constantly. (They just aren't as boastful as some other agencies.) As Bizzymama said, both Product and Generation have stellar reputations for print. I have friends with kids at both agencies and they are happy where they are for reasons that suit their individual personalities. A parent's compatability with his/her kid's agent is a huge factor in the kiddo's success. Meet with both, do some research and go with your instincts. Good luck!

My son is with Product as well. He attended several castings..I actually don't see any casting for my son's age that we weren't invited to. He booked several jobs..Carters, TRU-BRU-FAO (several times), Target, Avon, Tiny Tillia etc. THey also sent him out by their partner TAke3 and he booked a national commercial. They worked out for us..and their kids work constantly. Unfortunately, I don't know much about Generation..but I would think they about the same level.

My son is with Generation. Over the past year that we've been with them, we've been to a lot of go-sees. He's booked things like RL, GAP, BRU, Carters, Target, TCP and even a commercial for Optimum. We've been very lucky and the team at Gen has been fantastic. I think to find the best fit for you and your child, you have to do your research. Look at the websites, the FB pages and meet with the teams. It really just comes down to what you're looking for and who you connect with. We love Generation (it was the only agency we submitted to) but I think if you signed with Product, FFT or Willy, you'd have a great experience too!

I've heard good things about Product but my dd is with Generation. She's been with them now just over 2 years. Even being older..they continue to send her out. I've met the staff only a very few times because it isn't neccessary to contact them often because they're that on point. If I do it's to and for updates. My dd loves every dept as she is represented by every department....and they love and know her personally. The website fee is optional. Personally I requested my daughter to be on the website. The only stress is to provide updated photos and sizes which I do so there isnt stress after all, lol. Patti speaks her mind but basically if you do your part, there's no to converse with her much. Good Luck with your decision.
