Hey Guys, I know there are lots of discussion on the board about schools. But yet, I want to ask for myself to get clear answers. I live in Turkey. I will go to L.A. to learn the technique. Almost every school has his own technique, based on Stanislavski method. I want to learn method acting that is for sure. I have mailed both Stella Adler and Strasberg School for the price and detailed one-year program. I found out some other schools too, but Stella Adler feels right for now. I need your opinions. -Which school in L.A. teaches method acting best ? NYFA, Strasberg, Stella Adler etc. ? Thank you in advance =)

NYFA is an expensive joke. Strasberg Institute is a joke too. It went downhill when Lee died.

Well Stella Adler Academy Los Angeles “A Conservatory for Actors” is one of the reccommended acting school in Los Angeles. If you want to learn technique, you could also try at Howard Fine Acting Studio. Best of luck.

Stella Adler is great, but she is NOT the "Method Acting" that most people think it is ie. using past memories to generate current ones or thinking about your dead goldfish when someone in the scene is dying which is taught by Strasberg. Adler is the closest to Stanislavsky who is the ONLY American teacher who studied with him and found out that Stanislavsky was NO longer doing emotional memory but focusing on imagination. If you want to learn Strasberg "Method Acting" then Lorrie Hull or Jill Place are some of the best teachers on that subject.

Maybe you should check small studios like www.christianrodrigo.com/ActorsStudio, with great classes based on Stanislavski and Meisner!
