I think I have wanted to be an actress even before I knew I wanted to be an actress. The signs where always there but I myself didn't even notice them.

When I was only 3 in Sunday school I was always the first one to memorize my bible verse for the week. When I got a bit older I could remeber the lines of movies after watching them only one time and would play out the whole movie in my bedroom.

I remember my favorite movie's to act out where Spy Kids,Madeline and Annie. I remember doing cartwheels around the house and climbing trees to be a spy and reenacting scenes from the movie. I remember once standing on my bed and pretending to be Madeline and Pipito when they escaped from the Carnies who kidnapped them. I remember dancing around and singing Hard Knock life word for word and playing each and every orphan as if I was one of them and being angered when my mother would come in a break the scene for me screaming as if I was Miss Hannigan.

I also remember I knew all the lines to my favorite tv shows I would watch them over and over until I learned the lines and characteristics down pat. My friends always said I was a liar when I said I knew all the lines to the newest "Lizzie McGuire" episode but was begged to stop after saying all the lines and acting it out in character.

When I was 10 I finally joined a theater group and that was when then and there no hesitating,no doubts...I knew for a fact that is what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.

Where YOU an actress/actor before you even knew it?

Correctional comment: The phrase is "were you" instead of "where you".

As for the topic: I was a screwball. Now I'm a screwball with discipline.

I used to play the Darth Vader theme loudly on a record player while marching around the house with his helmet and cape. My mother said this would continue for hours.

The superbowl commercial a year or two ago with a kid doing the same thing hit a real cord of nostalgia!

I also made radio plays with a tape recorder, playing all types of characters and the narrator.

All of this was before I was even in Kindergarten.

"The signs where always there but I myself didn't even notice them."..Your self awareness was fine tuned at and early age. There is no such thing as catching the actors bug.Talent ultimately is just about self awareness.Acting is a survival tool we all pocess the tools to be a great actor. Most people go their whole lives without this awareness. Its obvious your one of the few good luck to you

I knew on some level long before I made any move to seriously go after it. And I would role play long before even I knew.

That being said, a think lots of kids could say this, but most of them grow-out of it or move on to some other endeavor. For example, my brother was the same way as a child, but he's about as far from being a performer then one can get.

When I was three I told everyone I wanted to be an actress. My parents could never take me to plays because I would cry and have a fit because I couldn't go on stage! Acting is my true passion.
