Okay...being concise has nothing to do with having a smartphone, which is quickly becoming a must have for the serious actor.

Versatility, I think you're going to do just fine. You just handled the ridiculous posturing that goes on around these parts with aplomb.

There were some very interesting recent theatre casting controversies at the LaJolla Playhouse and the Royal Shakespeare Company in London regarding the casting of Asian-Americans.

LaJolla ended up hosting a panel discussion with regards to the casting of their production of "The Nightingale".

While I am not Asian-American, I found the discussion, surrounding controversy and the treatment of Asian-Americans in casting in general to be very interesting.

A little google search should yield the articles and supporting videos.

I don't always agree with TT (or anyone else). It's easy to seperate the personal opinions from the professional suggestions.

It'd be a mistake not to listen. TT and others really know the acting business.

Sure, if you compare the sheer volume of opportunities for any ethnicity to those of Caucasian or even African American actors, it may appear that the chances are as bleak as you make it seem. Unfortunately you may not have the type of attitude that will ever get you through the right door (unless of course you are able to transform your perspective, as many of us do).

Walking Dead is the perfect example of a show that has cast Asian actors WITHOUT using stereotypical material. There was yet ANOTHER Asian actor they cast for the current season as a recurring role.

I personally know a handful of Asian actors who (just like the majority of us) are yes, struggling to live completely off of their acting jobs - but they are ALL booking consistent co-stars, guest stars, recurring roles and as leads in independent films…all with material that doesn't rely on working within the stereotypes. The difference between them and the ones who don't work as often (of every ethnicity) is their persistence - they stay in classes on a consistent bases, they show up and are on time to every audition (NO EXCUSES), they create their own projects (webisodes, short films, etc.) and they don't blame the "business" or their ethnicity when they don't book a job.

Stay positive and if you really love what you do, don't let anything stop you.

that's a silly reason for NOT trying....
