Hello all. I am new to this forum & and re-newed to the world of commercial acting. I have a favor to ask and hope someone here can guide me in the right direction.
I have booked over a dozen national spots (Subway, 7-UP, Honda...) but took some time off. I am now entering the commercial acting world again & am in need of a new agent. I have seen these best of lists on this site & see the value of this information. However, I have been away for awhile & am not sure what agencies to target.
For those of you who are up on the "top" agencies out there TODAY, & can you folks take a look at my demo reel & a couple of headshots to guide me/ my type to the agencies that would suit me the best? I'd sure appreciate it.
I play late 20's to early 30's and am half Korean/ half German although I pass for all sorts of "ethnic" roles!
I know commercials unlimited used to have a pretty good reputation but I haven't seen them on many sign in sheets in a long while. I've seen bobby ball clients on sign some sign ins though. Look you can go with either, but judging by your commercial reel I don't think you're going to have a difficult time getting a meeting with the bigger agencies that Truth mentioned. I'm with one of those guys and I can assure you...I get a ton more auditions with them than I did when I was with agents that were a step down.

My last agent was just starting out & did not have the pull to get me out much at all really (2-4 times a month at best). I told myself I don't want to settle & my next commercial agent will be an A-lister that is still small or attentive enough that I don't feel lost in the shuffle.
I would love to meet with any of the aforementioned agencies! How do you go about doing this? I've heard it's best to get a referral. Well the only referrals I have so far are CU & Bobby Ball. Should I just submit my headshot & reel through the mail? Email? I know my reel is strong. But to get to my reel, they have to go through my headshot first which I don't feel is as strong (don't have $$ to reshoot now plus I'm sure my new agent will want me to reshoot with their photographer anyway). I have to get them right to my demo reel as is what will get their attention!

Commercials Unlimited has LOST their sizzle. They USED to be really great. Bobby Ball is decent. I would still aim higher.
The "lost in the shuffle" talk is broke thinking. The TOP commercial agents may have many clients overall because they have many departments, but each individual department is select and small.
If you're worried about your head shot. On the outside of the envelope, you can print an avery rectangle sticker that says "Have booked several nationals! See at (insert your youtube address)"
Give KSR, CESD, Commercial Talent, Abrams and Coast to Coast that DVD! They'd be stupid to not call you in.

I would also have a nice short cover letter together and lists the nationals you've booked in the past but are no longer conflicts.
ex:
Hey _____, I have booked over a dozen national commercials and currently hold no conflicts. I would love to come in and read for you. I've included my commercial reel for your consideration.

Good point on the "broke thinking"! It's time to think & manifest my way into exactly what I want & deserve! Thanks again, mystery man. It's nice to know there are people out here who will help others just because . I will pay it forward.
I have a plan. I'll report back after I sign with my new agent...

That's a great point LuckyMe73! My strength is my experience & reel. That has to get their attention right away. Thanks!

Damn now I know why your name is truthteller! . OK OK I see your point. Truth is Commercials Unlimited and HRI are the only agencies I have connections with. I really want to be with Abrams but my broke thinking says they don't even know me, they are not goijg to open my submission... BUT f#$k it. I am going to just send my stuff to them and the others you mentioned and have a positive attitude about it all. I don't want to settle for 2nd best! I am going to mail my stuff next week...
