This management company is holding another open call and I was wondering if you have any info or input. Is it legitimate? Why do they hold large open calls if they are so exclusive? What's with talking down to everybody who attends?

how do you know they talk down to everyone who attends? 1. how did you hear about this open call? (usually that can be a tip off as to their legitimacy) 2. When is it? what are they asking of you? don't pay for anything...

My son had sent in his resume and headshot to Stein Entertainment and, in response, received an invitation to the call, which is coming up in the next few days, if I recall correctly. However, my son has another obligation and can't make it. I do not know whether the call is "large" nor have I heard about anyone "talking down to everybody who attends." Maybe someone can shed some light on Stein Entertainment. I'd like to hear more about this management company, as I know very little.

I know some people who attended one of their open calls and they felt it was a total waste of thier time. They also said it was like a long infomercial where they were talked down to the whole time. THere are two sides to every story (and this company does have an impressive clientelle) just wondering about the company since they had such a bad experience.

eh, they look decent on imdb(pro) i say go check it out, and let us all know how it was!

IMDB Pro is NOT an accurate rating system. Are you basing your assumption on the stupid rating or are their clients actually working and have RECENT credits?

i checked out their clients, and for the most part they're steadily working & got some decent credits and a lot seem to also be with big name agencies...

I went to a Saturday call. I don't think it's an open call like it's being referred to here. They saw me at a showcase and called me in 2 months later. It seemed to me like they called a couple of handfuls of people to come in. They gave one time and it was first come first serve...and noone talked down to me. As a matter of fact I got a good bit of praise and a they offered me management a few days later. I am curious if anyone has worked with them before though and their thoughts. My first impression of them was a really good one.

Okay guys, here's the real scoop. I've known T.J. Stein since the late 1980's. He's an excellent manager, especially for kids, young adults, and even slightly older. His personal ethics are impeccable, and he has never done anything illegal or sleazy. Many of his clients have achieved great success. He has strong relationships with most talent agencies. His only downside from the agency perspective is that he might be too aggressive on behalf of his clients. But that's the best thing an actor can hope for from a manager. The bottom line, speaking as someone who has been a producer for a decade and an agency owner for 2 decades, I say that if you get a chance to sign with TJ or his gang, just go for it. He's one of the good ones.

I have a friend who is actually signed with them, and she is getting some fantastic auditions. So i'll vouch for BigBrain here. The guy is very legit.

BigBrain, I would like to submit to them what do you think would be the best way by paper submission or email? "Its the struggle that makes it great"
|
| Russell Crowe |
Both. Submit in any way you can to them. They accept both hard copy and email submissions.

My friend submitted to them via email and they were quick to respond. Contact Colin, their assistant. Also, I believe the reason they are holding open calls is because they have a new manager, Joshua.

Yes. TJ is expanding his company by adding managers. He is in a mode where he really wants to build his business larger. In the past he kept things small, but he seems eager to handle a larger stable of talent, and is doing it in a smart way. First, more managers. THEN more talent.

Hey, gang. I've been swamped with three test deals but just so you all know, I think TJ's a good guy who works hard for his clients. I've always heard good things about him.
