I would like him to name these clients. Every agency has a relative small number of favors to a friend. I mean everything in life is politics and some people are rep'd by WME because of a family friend yada yada but show me some1 else on the roster who has real credits and isnt going out. Also how do you KNOW they are not going out? DO you work there?

If there was a role cast-able for a particular client at WME all they would have to do is pick up the phone and that person would get in the casting room. WME tv department is fierce

First of all I misspoke, Jackson. You weren't doing your damndest. I skimmed through several recent posts. Saw that you were calling out the one poster and assumed you were the one complaining about this company is previous post. It wasn't the case. My apologies. 1 posters are always suspect. In this situation I would bet its more of a client that reads and doesn't post but who knows...nor do I care really.

But when SAM or BigBrainThing posted regarding TJ...his company falls under that umbrella. Because the context was the company...they are referring to him and his business.

Naming unhappy clients at agency would be pretty crappy and unethical of me wouldn't it? No thanks. You can take my anonymous word for it...whatever that's worth.

But I will explain just 1 of 100000 ways someone could land with an A list agency and not get out. Say someone is with a small agency they have 0 real credits and hit the effing jackpot and book a large role in a crappy studio feature but a studio feature none the less. Their visibility is huge at this point. Agents make their money at these big agencies partly by knowing who booked what when because they will scoop them up hoping for a big money maker. News flash...XYZ agency doesn't submit their clients for costars...because costars don't pay and this actor still needs credits. So this actor goes out a few times a year for larger parts in films and tv. Unfortunately these are hard to book if you don't have credits because producers do look at that type of stuff...so if that client doesn't book often they'll go out even less. That's 1 way that doesn't involve a favor and this stuff happens every day.

PS: I'm done on the matter of this organization. Several people on this board with credibility have said nothing but great things about them. I'll let that speak for itself.

I hope the mods and powers that be sees this post. I propose a sub-forum where questions pertaining to Agencies, managers, CD's, etc can be asked. Company reps can honestly answer questions or defend the legitimacy of their companies without the stench of being a 1 post shill. Just a thought.

Very excited to meet with them. I did a showcase and they notified me by email to meet. Deciding on a monologue now. They specifically asked for a monologue. Hoping they like me.

I've been with them since December 2011 and I can honestly say that they've been extremely responsive to me and have gotten me a lot of great auditions this year from studio films, indie films, and TV shows that range from guest stars, supporting, and co-stars.

Like someone said before, some agencies/managers work well with some, and doesn't for others. I think a lot of actors have this entitlement that they feel they don't have to do anything and have their rep do all the work for them. Wrong.

I know Stein Entertainment has been great with me because they know I work super hard for them. I network. I do casting workshops and follow up CONSTANTLY. I keep them informed with everything they should know that can help their job when it comes to pitching me.

I am sorry for those who felt like the management company hasn't been good to them, but hey, that's the nature of the business, no? Different strokes for different folks.

UPDATES: So it's been about 10 months since I've been with Stein and overall I'd have to say it's been a positive experience.

I signed with them last March and nothing really happened until late July - but over the late summer and early fall I went out for several episodic auditions. Then they went through some turnover and one of their top people left. The auditions fell off in December and it's been dead since.

I want to see what they can do for me during pilot season. If I don't hear anything, I might start looking for new management come April/May. My biggest complaint to this point has been their inability to get me a meeting with a theatrical agent. But again, my overall experience has been positive.

Don't go if you look young, but are older. They make you fill out this form that requires you to put your age on. They said they really liked me, but were going to pass. Which I think was because I was older then they thought. I thought it was strange that most of the people they had at the time of my appointment were kids.

Also thought it was rude the phone rang while I was performing. They should of put it on mute or had all calls transferred to a intern or something. One of the guys even answered the phone in the middle of my performance.
