Anyone represented by them or know anything about them. They aren't SAG franchised. I read that it's not that important if they're franchised or not but it's still hard for me to trust them because they're a new agency.

Should I meet with them?

Thanks!

Shannah

Never heard of them and I can't find anything about them on IMDB Pro.

How did you come in contact with them?

I received an email from LA Casting talent scout saying that ETA is interested in me.

But there is nothing about them on imdb.... They have a website with very little info....
I think maybe we should stay away?

Unless the agents were successful managers or were an actual agents at TOP agencies who left on GOOD terms, start up agencies are a waste of your time.

I received the same e-mail and talked to someone on the phone. They have a separate model agency called Creme De la Creme as well. I am meeting with them next week and if you do I would suggest coming with prepared questions. I plan to ask about their history, current client roster, what they are booking, industry connections, where they plan to direct my career etc.. I'm not to concerned if they aren't a good fit because I have a couple more meetings.

That should set off a severe bout of skepticism. Personally, I've never heard of a decent agent trolling LA Casting for talent. Take the meeting, have your guard up.

Commercial Talent, DPM, Mavrick, and Momentum use LACasting Talent Scout. Other than that, it's crappy agents.

One of the reasons why commercial agents use this feature is now they know that they don't have to nag the actor into creating a profile.

I went in. The guy was totally up front on everything. Said it was new, they are building, definitely seemed to know what he was talking about. I'm not under obligation to stay with them, so can't hurt if I can auditions with them.

I've had trouble with another agency in the past, so figure maybe a smaller one that talks to me will work. We'll see.

Said he was working for another agency over the past year commercially. Before that nothing as an agent. Apparently he has more production goals and an outlook to create something more than he was tied down to working for someone else, so starting a new agency would be better.

He talked a lot about international stuff too and where he wants to find work. I liked it, sounded better than most agencies telling me they can get me work.

If it is the same person who has been e-mailing me it's Ryan. There could be another person you are talking to though.

I decided to meet with him and signed with him the same day. He's a nice guy and was happy to answer any questions I had. It's a totally new agency but I hope that I get some good auditions/jobs through them. I'll let you know if I do! Smiler

Hi, everyone! Any updates on this agency? They're on IMDbPro now, but I thought someone might be able to fill in some details. The agents names are Ryan McBay and Leanna Smith. Thanks so much!
