I have an upcoming meeting with an agent at Aqua Talent. What do we know about them, specifically theatrically? I read some brief things about them already on the BS message board and saw they have a respectable commercial side, but is anybody here familiar with their theatrical side?
Also, I'm still new to meetings (aren't we always new to meetings?...). What are good questions to ask of them? I've taken a handful of meetings, agents and managers both, so I'm not entirely new to that environment, but what should I concern myself with? So far I've got: number of clients, types of clients, casting relationships, how do I fit in with their current roster, etc (you know, the easy stuff). Is there something else I should ask about?
SAM, I can already hear you saying "Just talk to them like they're a person," which I'm great at, but because not much is known about Aqua I need to know what additional business/industry questions I should prepare...
Thanks guys! Gonna nail it.

If you're meeting with Courtney Peldon, she's a hot little blonde who looks like an actress. Actually, she was indeed an actress, a successful one. If you look up her resume, you'll see that Courtney worked quite a bit when she was younger. Does that make her a good agent? I have no idea. Whenever I see her, I'm too busy falling into her perfect blue eyes. But then I see the rock on her finger. Sigh...

Actually the questions you know to ask are pretty much the questions you shouldn't be asking. You don't need to worry about how many clients they have on their roster. If you want a general idea go on imdbpro. Asking an agent how many clients to them is the equivalent of saying...."if you have too many clients you won't work hard for me." An agent isn't going to sign you if they don't have any interest in working for you. Don't ask them questions that can come off like "Do you know how to do your job?"
Honestly the best thing you can do is to, as you already mentioned, talk to them like you're just 2 people meeting for the first time. I've taken more meetings than I can count and I would guess its probably similar to a speed date. You meet...they'll ask you a few questions, the conversation will move....if you guys click it might be all over the place...then they'll ask if you have any questions....Ask them about themselves. Ask them about something you learned throughout the conversation like you would anyone else. Depending on the size of the office I find it interesting how certain offices break up the territories, because offices do it differently.

@Lucky - thank you for the advice. You got it spot on. But did you hear she's MARRIED?!?!
@SAM/TRUTH/naira - glad I could provide a forum for you guys to discuss attractive women that aren't married to you.
Thanks guys. I'll follow up on this thread with anything I learn on Aqua and Courtney, and I'll also see how sound the marriage is since that seems to be of utmost import.

I've been repped by Courtney for a couple of months now and I really like her. I'm very much a character type with no real tv credits and I've been getting out on average one to two times a week for a lot of hit shows. She obviously has relationships with cds from her time as an actress and is able to use them to get me in the room.
I keep looking at that ring on her finger to keep from falling in love...she's delightful, educated, and a cool chick.

It looks like she's still acting - she did "Road to Hell" in 2012. Eyes seem more green than blue to me, maybe SAM wasn't really looking at her eyes after all. Google Images is a game of "before and after surgery".
