I have been working with Shelly Shenoy for the last six months and it has changed my Voice Over career entirely. I should re-phrase that; I now HAVE a VO career. I cut an amazing reel with entirely original commercial copy written, directed and edited by Shelly expressly for my voice and each commercial I made with Shelly was composed & edited immediately after class!
Moreover, a few weeks ago I had a booking (which I completely think I landed due to the things I learned in class) and I was nailing the copy (for 4 different spots!) in one take. I attribute this completely to the experience and guidance I got inside the booth during every class. Being privvy to what other actors are doing inside the booth and getting to experience being "on the other side," has also helped immensely. Shelly's VO knowledge knows no bounds. She has been an unwavering guide in the technical aspects of the industry, as far as in-booth etiquette goes, and in terms of the business side (reading through the breakdowns to figure out what they "really" want out of your audition.)
As a teacher, Shelly is warm and funny but direct and specific with her feedback. Beyond that, Shelly helps cast a number of projects and I have seen actors book work off of reads done DURING class. Imagine having the benefit of being coached by a pro during your audition.
