REVIEW
“Peter Cottontail Jr” Promotes Helping Others
By Mary Mallory, Tolucan Times

“Peter Cottontail, Jr. is a crowd pleasing play for children. Funny and delightful, the show promotes honesty and doing the right thing.
Little Peter Cottontail, Jr. (Amy Schloerb), a mischievous little bunny who seems to always get in trouble, finds adventure as he delivers grain. Stopping in the cabbage patch for a snack, he runs up against two dastardly farmhands (Dave Craig, Bob Rusch) trying to steal the farm from Mrs. Kovacs (Enci) and her daughter (Miriam Korn).

Director Benton Jennings builds a rapid pace to the show from constant movement, dancing, and great timing. Jennings creates an almost cartoonish atmosphere, through the use of slapstick, Three Stooges like sounds, and little signs.

The cast enthusiastically brings their roles alive. Schloerb stands out as Peter, charming and joyful. Carleen Bezeck and Liz Edwards bring wide eyed excitement and determination to Mrs. Cottontail and Penelope. As the two villains, Craig and Rusch bring a scheming Snidely Whiplash and his slow witted assistant to mind.

Production work is first rate, from Fabiola Ledesma’s colorful costumes, Danuta Tomzynski’s elegant backdrop, to the effective rabbit makeup.
A sweet, entertaining story, “Peter Cottontail Jr.” is an excellent production for the happy children in all of us."

at the NoHo London Music Hall, 10620 Magnolia Blvd. in North Hollywood.
