Hi ,
I'm Jerrod Bogard, a theatre and film artist like you. When I finish a play I usually try to get it archived on video, and end up doing a short edit for my director’s reel etc. Now I’m doing this other thing- I try to get a promo video online- early in the play’s run.
Here's a video that I just did for Wide Eyed Productions (I’m a member of the company). From taping to going live on you-tube was 24 hours.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p0d1rWnN4v0I love doing these videos, so I’ve decided to start offering this service to other artists.
I know- I know. “I create theatre, who has money for video?”
Answer: Nobody. And that’s why I do it myself.
But- on the off chance you have some dough to invest in the promo or archival of your work –I can do a video for you like this one, and have it up within 48 hours. I'm trying this out at the redonkulous price of $200.
You can also get the .mov files and raw tape of all the footage, and a DVD.
You might already know that professional video editors charge $75 per hour. And that video I showed you (link above) would have cost $500 by the industry standard. So, really – I’m a rogue editor undercutting those guys because of my love for the art form. Also, I understand theatre in a way that most video geeks do not, which is why nobody makes a play promo like I do.
Call me anytime and we can discuss the details of how to best document or promote your work. Here are some other vids I’ve made to document my own work over the years.
