Hi all!

Just writing because I have been so blessed as to be given the opportunity to be Casting Director for a theatre production, National Velvet.

National Velvet is a classic tale written in a book in the early 1900's. It was made into a movie in 1944 and launched Elizabeth Taylor and Mickey Rooney's careers. The movie won oscars and was nominated for several other awards.

No one has been given license to re-tell this story for over 60 years. However, our Director Darren Numer, after several years of efforts finally received permission to re-tell the story in a play.

This production is now being told with a new and exciting twist. Our very talented Director wrote the script and created a fun and innovative way to re-tell this story.

Industry professionals and media personnel are invited to attend a preview show on Friday, May 1st at 8:00pm at The Hollywood Improv Theatre.

Other shows are being held at The Hollywood Improv Theatre throughout May every Saturday at 2pm and 8pm and Sundays at 2pm (except May 2nd). Tickets are $18 and can be purchased by calling The Improv at 323-651-2583.
