Hey everybody. My name is Allen and I'm a (semi-) working actor in NYC. Of course, I'm also a waiter, but I have the good fortune to work at a killer restaurant in Long Island City called The Creek. I won't list all the great stuff about it, but I will tell you the important thing: we have a theater. We have a FREE fifty-seat theater that ANYONE can use . . . one more time . . . for FREE. Take a breath and calm down. Here are the details.
We generally use the theater for improv and stand-up comedy, which we all love, but have found that theater brings in new people instead of the same old comedy crowd. So now we want more plays, readings, workshops, etc. I even did a four night run in a show here a few weeks back and everyone had a blast. Like I said, it seats about fifty. We have a projector and screen, light/sound boards, a newly fixed-up backstage area, and it is FREE. There is no catch, no drink minimums, no anything. It is in Queens which I know can be a drawback, but it is literally one stop out of Manhattan on the 7 train, and if you saw this theater in Manhattan, and someone told you it was free, you'd faint. Or pee.
Anyway, everyone we've had here has had a great time, and we'd love more people. So, e-mail me at ajarthur29@yahoo.com and we'll discuss a bit. If it sounds like we are on the same page, you can come check the space out and we can melt some faces. Thanks for your time. : - )
