My 1 y.o. booked his first commercial. What happens at a fitting session? What is the range in pay for one? Also how does the date of shooting go for someone that young? Any info or heads up would be appreciated. It's all so exciting.

Congratulations! At the fitting they will have him try on a bunch of clothes to see what the director wants him to wear for the filming. They may also want all of your paperwork at that time so that production doesnt have to worry about it on the day of the shoot.
Since your child is so young, it is possible that they have hired 2 kids (one as a back-up in case the first choice is uncooperative or cranky) so make sure your baby is well rested, fed, etc etc the day of the filming.

Congrats!! Before you accept the booking you should ask the pay. Remember this is a business!! The pay depends on union, non-union, local regional, national. Pricipal, extra!! You also need to check out the states labor laws regarding child performers, I always keep a copy on hand to make sure they are not keeping the child on set for longer than the laws allow!

Thanks for the info. I know the pay for the session but I didnt ask about the fitting fee. It is a union commercial. I am doing my research now on labor laws, residuals, principal role, holding fees, etc.

Regarding what to expect the filming day,my daughter appeared in a commercial where six kids got booked for the same role! they were infants. Only my daughter got the residuals b/c only the kid who actually appears on screen gets the residuals for Sag stuff. It can be a little stressful knowing that just b/c you booked it there is still competition. You just have to relax and enjoy and hopefully your baby will pick up your vibe! good luck
