If they ask you to bring 3 snapshots to an open call, is it stupid of me to bring a comp card or 8x10 headshots, etc.? I dont want to seem stupid but I thought maybe there is a reason they like snapshots better?

Stacy,
If they ask you to bring 3 snapshot then bring 3 snap shots if you want to also bring a comp card and a head shot so be it, but following directions is always a good thing.

if they say 3 snapshots, you should probably bring 3 snapshots. its better to do what they say...carry your comp card with you, and ask if you can attach it as well. if they say yes, then add it on, but if it's a no, do NOT push them lol. just do what they say, and trust that they want what they want. hope this helps!

What exactly is a comp card? Is it something you can do yourself on your pc at home? Thx.

Comp card, also known as "Zed" card, is a model's calling card. It is a 5" X 8" card with one large shot on one side and multiple small photos on the back. Generally these are made by your print agent and are branded with the agency logo and contact info. The photos should be a compilation of work from your portfolio, or if you haven't done any work, maybe a compilation of different looks from a photo shoot.

Here's a link to some kids' comp card samples.
