Hey guys, maybe you can give me some Advise Smiler My son is 2 1/2 years old, he has only been doing print since he was 2, I have noticed when he goes on a go see he is very good. He always smiles and takes the picture. NO problem!! But when he gets booked for a job There is always a problem!! It is very hard to get him to go and take the picture. He has booked work. With 2 jobs he had to take the picture alone and he was so so, but the last job there were more children there and he had to take the photo with another child and he just wouldn't go!! The lady got really pissed and was like that's it and took the shirt off. I must say I was a little pissed with her attitude, but I thought it was normal. I could understand her being a little annoyed. I guess my question is, is this normal and do they understand because he is this young that it is going to happen?? Also does the agency hold this against the child?? Or for that matter does the agency even know what happen. Thanks for you advise in advance Smiler

If he keeps acting out on booked jobs, it's going to get back to his agent and he may not be sent out as often. Time is money in this busiess and, even though your son is only 2 1/2, they don't want him wasting their time/money. Usually, on jobs with babies/toddlers, they'll book 2 or 3 kids for the job in case the first choice is being difficult, sleepy, crying, etc....

I'm wondering something, though.... do YOU get nervous/on edge before taking him to a job? If he's fine/happy on auditions, there's no reason he shouldn't be on the actual job. If you're overly anxious or nervous or on-edge, he could be picking that vibe up from you and it's throwing him off.

Maybe there is something about a job that freaks him out that isn't present at a go see. for example, hair and make up or wearing clothes that don't belong to him. I remember one time my daughter got very nervous on a job when she was 2 1/2 and I realized she was frightened of the curling iron the stylist used. when we went home I showed her my flat iron and made a big deal of doing her hair with it. She loved it and now 1 1/2 years later she still loves getting her hair done with one. Your little guy is at a tough age but if you can get inside his head you may be able to help him get over this faster. Good luck!

What I do is I keep telling him that were going to get his picture taken, he will be putting on clothes and to smile. He smiles and says yeah in a happy voice. My other children get excited for him so they keep saying "your going to get your picture taken" And there happy. I just thought I would prepare him for it. Maybe I just shouldn't say anything and let it happen?? Maybe this is the problem. I myself am not nervous or on edge before taking him to a job. So that wouldn't affect him.

hi momof5- I agree with castlerock - don't make a big deal out of it, and talk to your older children about that as well. I'm sorry to hear about your experience with that photographer.
