I recently auditioned for this magazine (I am 15) which supposedly features the head shots of kids, gives industry tips, and is sent out to major agents. If you are selected to be in the magazine, you will be featured among other kids in your area and, based on votes, may win the cover of the next magazine. The woman who I auditioned for is Caron Ann Stevens. She says the kids who make the cover typically get quite a bit of responses from agencies. I was asked to be in the magazine, but I still have a while to make any decisions. It is expensive to get your first picture featured, which is why I am reluctant. But I have a copy of the magazine, which does actually exist. I just don't know if it is worth it; is this a well-known magazine? Will it actually get me exposure? If anyone has even heard of this magazine I would really appreciate your thoughts!

Why would you pay to "get a job?" This probably is not a good career move. Did you read the kids getting started thread? Are there even agencies where you are located in Arizona?

There are not many agencies in Arizona, which is why I was considering this. The last kid on the cover did not live in L.A. either, but was contacted by a few agencies there. I probably won't do it, but I don't know how else to get exposure when I live here.

"Exposure" is not a way to an acting career. If there isn't work in AZ (I would think there might be some--did you check out student films at the local colleges or community?)--you'll have to go to where the work is--ie LA.
