I had a (non acting) friend tell me the other day that they were going to start sending their daughter to John Robert Powers classes because she wanted to perform. I of course immediately enlightened her about what a bad idea that was and told her about all the many reputable and prestigious teachers and classes to be found in LA. She was hesitant to explore most of these options because she thinks that they are all for very experienced kids who already know what they are doing. What would be some good options for kids in LA who are absolute beginners, but that arent scams? Anyone have any suggestions?
