Hey has anyone with a teen ever attended this Actorfest in NYC? It is sponsered by backstage...I was wondering if it is worth the trip? The info reads that there will be casting calls for teen nick and Grant Wifley..Just wondering

Yes, I've attended with my daughter in the past and I even registered for a workshop.
In my opinion although the workshops are very informative they are not geared towards kids.
But I would definatley attend for the Nickelodeon open call because you never know what they have in the works!Smiler

I've attended too, quite a few times when it was held at the Marriott. There were no auditions held at the time, just panel discussions and small seminars, nothing really for the kids which would be GREAT in the future!
The seminars were informative. I went just to keep up with what was going on in the indusry.

But if there is an audition for Nick and it's not attached to some outrageous sales peeps for acting classes, I would give it a try and what I also liked was the exhibitor's tables cos there is tons of info from headshot photogs to industry resource books, I think all three unions have reps there, info on dance/acting classes...the website has the exhibitors that are attending. I believe thats free to walk around.

What struck me was the line down the street waiting for the open casting calls. Even a line to be admitted to the exhibit area. If you have a VIP pass you can avoid the line, only the interns manning the entrance didn't know that.
