Hi,
While my dd has been performing in community threatre since she was six, as well as studying drama, dance, and voice, she is just now, (at age 12) wanting to branch into professional performing. She's done a few (very few) professional things. A PSA, performed briefly with a national touring company, and one professional photo shoot. All done without an agent. So, we are really newbies. I don't know how to go about finding an agent for her, who's reputable, that kind of stuff. Or what they're looking for in a client. We would be looking in the L.A. area, since we're in So. Cal. She's only 4'4, so modeling is not something she will go into, nor does she really want to, but it seems like so many agencies we've looked at online, are only about the modeling. She wants to focus on acting and voice overs, or professional musical theatre. She'd like to do commercial work, as well. Because she's so tiny for her age, we thought that would help, but who knows? Any suggestions?

Tiny for her age is great.
Did you read the parents of kids getting started thread?
Also read here: www.bizparentz.org
and here http://people.delphiforums.com/showtalk/index.html

And don't be scammed--legit agencies don't ask for any $ up front.

Thanks so much. Wow, so much info! I'm glad there's so much. The more informed the better. Thanks again. Any ideas of some of the best agencies in the L.A. area dealing with children or preteens to send submissions too? Online it looks like there's literally hundreds! Hard to know who to send submissions to! Anyone have any recomendations (or some that I should avoid?)
